I'm right there with you. They have a hotel quite a bit cheaper for my upcoming trip but it almost seems too good to be true. Worried I'll get there and have a ton of extra fees.

Just got off my first cruise (Carnival Fascination) and hope to have a review up soon (spoiler alert: had a great time)... but ya know, had to go back to work (where I'm writing this post from, lol)
But I'm thinking of booking another.
We went through BJ's Wholesale club (which is like Sam's Club and Costco but only available in New England) and the only "perk" we really got was a $25 or $50 BJ's gift card.
What sites do you use to book your cruise? Go through the line directly? Travel Agent? Expedia? AAA? Etc?

What are some of the best perks you've gotten through your booking?
It seems the best perks are if you book the balcony/suite... like right now BJ's is offering up to a $500 flight credit if you book a balcony or suite. Or they pay gratuities. Seems like you don't really get much for an interior or even exterior room. Although, I'm a number cruncher so there would have to be a lot extras added on to get me to book a higher priced room since I don't need a balcony or suite.

It's not where you book, it's what you book. The best way to save money is usually to compare the different lines rather than looking at different ways to book a given cruise. Any specific itinerary is going to have about the same price anywhere you look. However, it's not too uncommon for RCL to be running a better promotion than Carnival, NCL to be offering free drink packages, etc. Right now at least, cruises are in high demand and the lines control the prices pretty strictly. They don't need to offer much incentive to third parties to help sell cabins, so the third parties don't have much headroom for additional discounting. All that being said, if you're not booking balcony, suites or more expensive rooms it honestly doesn't make much difference how or where you book. As you've seen, you may pick up $50-100 on a given promotion, but that's usually about it. Likewise, these rooms tend to be roughly the same price for any comparable itinerary. If your goal is to get on board as inexpensively as possible, you can pretty safely just go to .com and book whichever room is currently the least expensive. Ninety-nine out of a hundred times that'll get you the lowest possible price, or close enough not to worry about it.

I love Costco. Their web site is super easy for searching and booking, and their customer service is PHENOMENAL. They tend to give onboard credit of around 10% of the price of the cruise. We got so much of that back after our Norway & Iceland cruise, lol.
