Hi, so I've recently upgraded from a headset microphone to the Samson Q2U, so I'm pretty new to all of this.
Everything sounds fine, my only concern is that it came with a USB-C Port despite the listing showing a different port for setting up via USB.
If they've updated it, nice, but a part of me is is a little worried as I can't find anything about that online?
Would anyone with a bit more knowledge help me out?

UPDATE: Samson got me back to me, it's real! "Thank you for contacting us! That is indeed a real Samson product! We have updated the microphone to usb-c, and just started rolling out the new models in Jan 2025. Congratulations on being one of the first to receive the upgrade!"

Thank you for your reply,
I did as instructed and tested the microphone on a different laptop with a different USB-a port. All worked fine.
I also did an experiment and plugged in an audio interface to my laptop. It connected to the microphone via XLR and to the laptop via a USB cable and the same USB-a port (my Lenovo laptop has got only 1 USB-a port). Again, all worked fine.
And what happened next was quite surprising. I plugged in the microphone once again through the USB cable to the USB-a port and the muffled, telephone sound was gone.
I am not sure what the issue was. No settings were changed. But most importantly, it works now, yay!
Hello,DagmarPress
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.
Understanding that your voice recording becomes muffled when you plug in and record through the USB-A port, and the sound appears normal when plugged into the USB-C port, we'd mainly like to ask you to try a cross-test where you plug the microphone into a different port on another device and check if the sound is normal?
Looking forward to your test and reply, this will determine our next option.
