This is a great project. It really is a pity Samsung wont do a Wear OS watch. I believe their hardware to be streets ahead of anything. April 11, 2018Samsung Gear S3 keeps disconnecting on P30 Pro
I'm currently using the Gear S2 with my Mate 30 Pro. Only problem sometimes is it doesn't always connect automatically. I have to initiate to connect through the Gear wearable app. It all works well for me no problem but I don't use Samsung health.

Hi guys, I wanted to get the gear s3 for so long when I was small and tbh I still prefer that design over the new models and I found a great deal for a almost brand new/ new refurbished gear s3 for around $100(AUD). Im considering getting it and I do have a s24 ultra so I've read through the previous posts regarding the steps to connect to it using an old APK. Just wanted to ask around and see if its worth going for it even if its just because its the watch I've always wanted.
Do let me know if any features are not working now compared to before they stopped providing support for the watch.

S24 has already dropped support for it. Grabbed a new s24 and they purposely programed their watch app to block the g3 which I bought new 4 years ago. However you can still make the g3 work because the only reason it does not work is that samsung programed the phones software so that it would not work. You can easily get around this by downloading an older version of the software for the app"samsung wear". From there you can uninstall the one with their unethical code, and install the old one. Just make sure to turn your device on airplane mode and roll the date back to 2023 and it will eventually work. That's how I got mine to work, and why it's crystal clear to me that they are only doing this to sell more devices. It's also why I'll never buy Samsung again, but that's a different rant.

As someone who upgraded from the Gear S3 to the Galaxy Watch, I would say the main two improvements are: 1.) Far better battery life, especially since the Gear S3 upgraded Tizen and the OS began killing the battery 2.) Water resistant for up to 50 meters in chlorinated water and salt water 3.) Sleep tracker can now record the four stages of sleep: awake, REM, light, and deep.
