I have a mystic black Note 20 Ultra. I bought the Otterbox defender pro ( as far as I understand almost same as the defender but a little more padding and antimicrobial). I wanted the case that would provide the most protection. I have been using otterbox with my past Note 10+ and it has been pretty good. The case is raised on the top and bottom of the phone so when you put the phone down the screen doesnn't touch the surface. Only the top and bottom lips touch. Right and left sides are the same hight as the phone but the case is very protective from all sides. I like the design of it. I was afraid that the case would be too thick but it is almost flush with the camera bump ( little thicker than the camera bump but thats good so the camera bump is also protectes) Overall I love the case my only concern was the case blocking 5G. In my area both high band and low band 4g is deployed. Case doesn't seem to effect low band 5g but I haven't tried the higher band. Answer from tkirimlioglu on reddit.com

I'm hearing a lot of good things about the Commuter on the Note 2 that makes me think it might even be better than the Defender for most people. Personally, I like the Case Mate Tough case better than either of them.

July 20, 2020 - It was easy to install and is compatible with Otterbox Defender. (One side note with the ZAGG glasfusion I am using. One of the sides closest to the front camera, screen protector is peeling off. I don't know if I accidently pulled it off or it was a defect.) Congratulations on your new phone! Otterbox nailed it with this one. Feel is excellent. ... I agree. Now if the Note 9 was designed like the Note 5 and earlier that was wider this wouldn't be an issue with the rugged case but these narrow phones I need a thick case like the Defender, or Monarch.
