I don't have a lot of experience with Microsoft SharePoint, so everything I'm about to say is what I found out on the interwebs, so if I'm completely wrong, please let me know. I recently took a job that requires me to create and maintain SharePoint sites for our organization, so I told my manager I needed to be designated a SharePoint admin so I can create the hub site and customize the colors for branding. This morning he told me our IT guy set me up as SharePoint admin, but when I try going into the admin center, I am unable to get in through 365, and when I try the URL workaround it says the site can't be reached. I'm assuming I can't just be a SharePoint admin without becoming a full admin, but wanted to double check here.
Sigh, found it. It’s a subsite off the main site. No idea why I didn’t think of that earlier.
Of all the 365 things, SharePoint is the one area I don’t spend a lot of time in.
I have a site that I can’t find in the SharePoint admin center. It’s also not in Groups or Teams.
When I look at the URL there’s no /sites/ in it. It’s an old site and the person who created it is no longer here.
The URL looks like this:
https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/sitename/SitePages/Home.aspx
Normal sites look like this:
https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/sites/sitename/SitePages/Home.aspx
I am missing something very obvious here after an already long day. I get the feeling this is something I’d be able to find in the classic admin panel, but that was removed on 1/1/21.
Check the SharePoint permissions: Go to the SharePoint site and check the permission levels of the members who are having trouble accessing the site. Make sure they have at least “Read” permissions or the appropriate level of access required for the folders they need to access.
Check the SharePoint Group membership: Go to the SharePoint Group membership page and make sure all members are listed and have the appropriate permission levels. You mentioned that you re-added the members, but it’s possible that the re-added members are not being added to the correct group. Double-check that the members are added to the correct group.
Check the Office 365 Group membership: Make sure that the members who are having trouble accessing the site are added to the correct Office 365 Group. If they are not added to the group, they will not have access to the SharePoint site.
Check the SharePoint site access request: If users are clicking on the “I’d like access” button, it means they do not have access to the SharePoint site. Check the access request settings to make sure that access requests are being sent to the correct people who can approve them.
Check the SharePoint site permissions inheritance: Make sure that the permissions on the SharePoint site are set to inherit from the parent site, and that there are no unique permissions set that might be preventing some users from accessing the site.

Using Microsoft 365 SharePoint. We have a Teams group and a SharePoint site based on that Teams group. This group encompasses our whole organization and when I add a new user, they automatically are added to this group.
Last week I rearranged folders on the SharePoint site. That’s the only thing that changed.
Now I’m finding users cannot access the SharePoint site any longer.
If I look in SharePoint admin center, it shows three members - and this is because they tried to access and could not and clicked on the “I’d like access” button. When I go to the SharePoint site and look under members, all members are listed. I even re-added them. But back in the admin center, it only shows the three members. And “Manage” is not there so I can’t add them.
In the Teams admin center, all of the members are listed for that group.
I am a Group Owner on the SharePoint site and I am an Owner of the Teams site. I created the site and on the SharePoint site page I am listed as an owner of the site.
Thoughts?
