I love my aftershokz (I have an older version) and use them predominantly at the gym, and listening while driving or walking as I really want to hear what’s going on around me. I find the wind from riding a bIke is too loud to use them. If you are an audiophile and looking for really high sound quality this isn’t designed for you. If you want to hear both your music/book clearly and what’s going on around you these are perfect. If you use them on a flight you will likely need the included earplugs and they has been my biggest issue. Back to your question about which version. So I wanna get a SHOKZ OpenRun Mini for biking. But when I look on second-hand sites, there is both the "OpenRun Mini SE" and the normal "OpenRun Mini". There are no official references of this SE product, except one sentence on the Amazon page for the normal: "Das Band von OpenRun SE Mini ist 21 mm kürzer als das des OpenRun." (translated like the headband of the SE Mini is shorter than the normal). Does anyone know what this product is? Is it an old overhauled version? Are there ANY differences?

If you haven't done so already, go to the Shokz website and follow their instructions on how to measure your head to determine whether the mini or standard size will fit you best. If I'm not mistaken, the SE versions of Shokz products are made for specific stores (such as Costco) and are functionally the same as their non-SE counterpart. Differences are typically in the accessories, e.g., a soft case versus a hard case, no case, etc.

There are some really good cheap 20 dollars knock offs on Amazon. I can confirm they are 90% of same product and sound quality. Great if u just want to try them. My brother has shokz openrun se from Costco. I loved them. So I got knock off just to try at work. Glad I did. I wear Jack and starched collar for nighttime gate guard duty on weekends and the band that goes around my head is constantly getting bumped by collar or jacket. So I love them and will buy when they come out with separate ear ones. But for now I use my soundcore v20 open ear headphones. Got for like 30 bucks on Amazon sale and they are AMAZING. very light weight. Don't have ear buds. Just lightly lay over ear. U can also just wear one ear piece if u want. I prefer them solely bc band around head w shokz.

Hi there- Shokz here! The size difference between the standard OpenRunPro and the mini is 0.83". Some customers find that the OpenRun Pro Mini provides a more snug fit and less stress on the back of the ears. Having at least a 1-inch gap between your head and the headband is normal. The Minis are a little shorter around my neck. This snug fit provided me with better bone contact and they do not bounce on my neck. I'm glad I tried both sizes on before I left the store.

Se is just a costco branding apparently so they can undersell bigger box stores without price matching. Nice way around that. So they are essentially just original openruns.

Love the idea. 10/10 for that.
Listening to music is God awful though. I don't know how anyone can praise the sound quality. There is no way it would ever amp me up even one iota to work out harder or push myself. I think I could get more amped up from listening to nothing. I think using these for music would actually take away adrenaline and just frustrate me. 1/10 for that.
2/10 total because it might be more convient than having my laptop or cellphone play music while doing the dishes but sounds almost the exact same. So I can at least use them for that.
If you like the audio quality, that's totally fine. This isn't an attack on your personal preferences. Don't take offense as I've seen some people do. You do you.

I'm sitting here at work with the shokz openmove. The cheapest of the bunch. Utter overpriced trash! With my earplugs in listening to the openmove it sounds like I'm underwater and the sound is coming from outside the water if you get what I mean. The sound quality is SHIT. People who claim shokz sound good deserve an ice pick to the ear. There should be consequences to these claims. In this case I don't believe in free speech.

Yeah I returned mine… Was on sale for $79.99 Also, imo if you need the bone conduction design Go for the Shokz OpenSwim or OpenSwim Pro imo I got a pair open box from best buy for 129.99 The sound quality on them is better than the pro 2 imo even if you don’t use them to swim in

Wondering if someone can help me out! I just got the shokz open run 2 pro, but trying to decide if i need to swap them out for the mini. I was just on the edge of the sizes - it said 9.25” and below measurement should get mini and i was 9.5”. They fit roughly 2 inches from the back of my head which in itself doesn’t bother me, but when i look up even a bit they move around. Wondering if this is normal, or if it would improve if i got the mini?
