r/shopify on Reddit: For those selling internationally: how do you manage multi-currency + shipping + taxes without apps exploding?
We’re expanding into 3 new regions, and every time we add a layer regional pricing, duties, tax rules the setup becomes fragile.
Shopify can handle multi-currency, but not always smoothly when you mix:
• B2B pricing
• custom tax rules
• multiple currencies
• different fulfillment centers
Has anyone found a clean, scalable way to manage this?

Hey there! This may not be the exact same setup as yours (we ship from a single location), but we’ve been doing international shipping on Shopify since 2008 with Bento&co (from Japan). B2B: we don’t use multi-currency—ever. We only sell in our local currency, so we run a separate site for B2B (Shopify wasn’t very multi-market friendly when we started). B2C (international): we keep the same base prices for everyone, but we do support multi-currency. One big difference: for EU customers, with the help of the EAS Project app, we collect VAT at checkout (via IOSS). It works well—too bad the US doesn’t have an equivalent system yet.

3 weeks ago - The problem- Data often sits fragmented across different reports and payment processors, making it hard to see true profitability, cash flow, or accurate financials without manual reconciliation. Thus, you don’t get real-time financial visibility in Shopify as this platform focuses on sales operations, not accounting.
