I’ve had a Costco membership for three years and am just finding this out so I thought I’d spread the word. You can link your Costco membership to Shutterfly and save 51% on any regular prints and projects ordered and in some cases get free shipping on orders over $49. Used it last night and saved over $100.
Has anyone done an order through shutterfly to Canada?? I was planning on ordering some prints and it looks like the 51% off is working but there’s a high shipping&handling fee. I added more to see if the free shipping is after $49 (or $59, saw some places online say $59) but still doesn’t work. My cart is currently $128.41 USD and the shipping and handling is $52.27. Anyone got an advice??

First time trying to get photos done with Costco membership through Shutterfly and the shipping is more than the pictures. A lot more.
WTF is with that? I could see $5 shipping but shipping for 2 prints is $15??
Am I missing something - I have the Costco logo at the top of the order page so I know I'm not on the general Shutterfly site.
So the question is - is this right for getting prints from Costco's partner?
Shutterfly discount is non existent. Bring back Costco photo. On Shutterfly I pulled up a Christmas card, simple one photo, no writing on envelopes. Reg price $213.60 Costco 51% discount -$108.94, total $104.66. Free shipping grand total $113.03.
I made a separate Shutterfly account with a different email, no Costco link. Different name also. Reg price $213.60 then immediate discount sitewide shows total of $107.20 Free shipping code added.
I get a worse deal with my Costco membership. I am strongly disappointed.
Does anyone know if Shutterfly promotions apply on top of the Costco "discount"? Shutterfly currently has a 40% off coupon code for photobooks with unlimited added pages (HUGE for me), but I would hate to spend all of that time creating a giant book just to learn at the end that it doesn't apply if you're getting the Costco "discount." I'm trying to know if I need to set up a burner Shutterfly account, or just use a different service this year if I'm going to end up paying full price anyway. Thanks!
I made two photo books for of my son, and at check out it was showing almost $200, (that's with the 51% costco discount) i took that offer off, and did 40% with free extra photo book pages and that took it down to $152.
There's always different offers, so best to check before buying. I almost placed the order before looking.
Despite Costco's offer of 51% off Shutterfly prices and free shipping/handling for orders over $49, it's still not a good deal. As other users have posted and commented, the Staples' promo (60% off with code "82652") saves significantly more than what Shutterfly offers us. I just compared similar cards - $1.75 each for Shutterfly, $0.48 for Staples. Will the quality be comparable? We'll see. However, with my past experiences using Shutterfly (through JCPenney Portrait deals on GroupOn), Shutterfly holiday cards are acceptable, but not great.
So, I'm wondering - Is this worth letting corporate know? Would they really care, or was Shutterfly just a sort of consolation offer?
Thanks - I apologize for any mistakes or confusion. My brain is dead; the kids got me sick. 'Tis the Season. Happy Holidays!
I used to use Costco Photo Center exclusively and have never had a better experience. I was devastated when they announced they were closing down, but I felt a little better that they had partnered with Shutterfly, offering Costco members 51% off! Incredible! Right!? Wrong!!
For the 9 photos I just added to my cart, we're looking at $8 + $15 shipping fees. What the??? These photos could be placed in an envelope and mailed for like $2. In the past, I could pick the same order up at from Costco for $5 - $6 total.
OK - so the shipping fees are insane. What happens if I spend a little more to qualify for free shipping?
A 16 x 20 photo canvas print would be a great deal at $50% off, had they not marked the standard price up 50% to begin with. On what planet would the regular price for this item be $110? Apparently, on planet Shutterfly. After the discounts and free shipping, the total is $57.90. The same size photo canvas from Walmart is $46.96 without discounts.
Lastly - the actual print quality offered by Shutterfly is embarrassingly bad...
So much for the Costco added value...
As I gear up for ordering holiday cards this year, I have to say how much I loath the Costco partnership with Shutterfly and miss the Photo Services offered through Costco. It was truly one of the things that made our membership more valuable for us, and you simply could not get a better deal for like 50-60 holiday cards for under $20. It's straight up a dollar a card at Shutterfly, I hate it.
I am old enough to remember taking pictures on a dedicated camera and then driving to the Costco photo center. I would fill out the rectangular envelope with self adhesive, check off the glossy prints option, insert the 35 mm negatives canister roll, seal, and then drop the envelope into the standing container. (similar to the custom deli stand currently in Costcos)
I would shop at Costco and then return later in the week to purchase and look at my photos.
Now that the Costco Photo Center is extinct like the dodo bird, what do you do if you want to print pictures from your iphone?
Has anyone tried Shutterfly prints? How is the quality and turn around time?
Do I visit a CVS, Walgreens, or drugstore?
What do you recommend? I want to print photos to place in a frame. One of my colleagues from work passed and I wanted to make a collage for his family.
I appreciate your advice.
My god, when will the emails end?!? Four more days, I hope!
