Stupid question, why not just pack the burner tube and set it in your NRS or Pop up conventional fire pit? Fire bans are pretty regular (propane only, should be more than just a few inches off the ground, and sturdy/weighted/stable enough not to accidentally lightly kick it over when getting up).I see some recommended propane firepits, but cooking with grease getting onto their lava rocks or open burners would probably ruin it. Any recommendations with a medium form factor that won't take up a large portion of the trunk?

For Colorado, when in a fire ban, the number one rule is that it must have an 'OFF' switch. Solo stoves or variants thereof don't count. Thank you for caring to stay compliant when in a fire ban. I think it's gonna be a big/devastating fire season, just based on lower snow totals across the west (and obviously Canada, who's already enduring massive wildfires). Stay safe out there everyone and remember to completely douse your campfire/be able to put your hand on it before leaving it unattended. All it takes is a spark...

Ignik makes a couple. Expensive unless you can get them on deep discount/prior season clearance. I have one I got for cheap and really like it. I don't cook on it though. Added some small gas fireplace logs and it is pretty nice to chill before bed with. Personally if there is a fire ban I won't bother with any open flame cooking. Grills and stoves only, but that is just me.
