I have a terrible time with Verizon in Tatnuck. Pretty much every other area of the city is fine, but in Tatnuck specifically I get super slow data speeds and sometimes I can only make calls/texts work. They must need another tower in that area or something.

Speed test from Antonio’s parking lot on Chandler St. I was connected to tower 48657 which is located on the Clark University Campus. With a few exceptions these are the 5G speeds I’m used to around the city.

You are paying less but you are also getting a downgrade in speed, Spectrum is delivering internet to you through a physical medium to your place, T-Mobile is delivering internet to you wirelessly. Think of it like trying to fill a bucket with water, which way is faster having the hose directly in the bucket or spraying from the hose at a distance?

I’ve got TMobile 5G home internet. Had it since it became available. It’s not perfect, but it is so much better, cheaper, and more reliable than Spectrum ever was for me. They also have decent perks, for an internet-only service - I get free Apple TV+, Netflix, I had Hulu until recently but they started charging extra so I canceled it. The perks and promos may cycle a little bit but they usually kick in some streaming to help make it more worthwhile.
