Looking to add stacked glass door cabinets and then paint white. Any pointers on we’re to get them and warnings before trying to DIY?
WARNING : I can only help with the paint portion. Have you used pledge or any type of wax? IF so you are in big trouble. are your tolling and brushing or spraying? first thing you want to do is remove all the doors, remove all the hinges from the doors and degrease every single door. You can use Zep industrial degreaser 1:1 ratio if its pretty bad or 1:2 with water if they are clean. once you have degreased it your need to sand everything with 320. Prime with a good bonding Primer. I suggest BIN shellac primer.
IF YOU HAVE USED PLEDGE OR ANY OTHER WAX
degrease 1:1 twice or even 3 times. Once done wipe with denature alcohol. Sand with 150 grit. Try your paint on top without the BIN to see if it bonds and nothing fishy happens. do this test on the 2 doors on top of your stove and if they are good everything else should be fine.
Prime twice with bin - Sand with 320 ----> Paint X 2 --------> sanding is optional between coats but will give you a better finish. Keep the sheen low. maybe 10 or 15 and u should be good.
