Thought Id make a post in regards to contacting the Tangerine Credit Card customer service phone number. They can be reached directly at 18554171766. They dont operate 24/7 but at least you wont have to call and wait 30 minutes on their regular phone line
I hope this post serves as a warning to you all about Tangerine's Credit Card department, and factors into your decision when choosing your next card. I personally find that the ability to charge back and protect yourself from fraud is a key value proposition of a credit card. I write this to add to the many other "beware" posts on the internet about Tangerine's credit card department.
I have been trying to dispute a credit card transaction for the past month and a half. The issue has still not been addressed. When trying to file a complaint as a part of their complaints process, I have been denied and given the run around on filing a complaint three times now.
I purchased an item off Aliexpress in late June to the tune of $103 that I never received due to it being lost in the mail. Aliexpress refused to refund me.
I called on July 2nd to dispute the charge, and after being put on hold for over an hour, was finally able to discuss the matter with someone from the Credit Card disputes team and get a ticket opened. However, when I tried to open a ticket to complain about the wait time, I was told that I would need to talk to general customer service.
A week later, I tried to follow up on the status of the ticket. After being put on hold for over three hours, I finally managed to get through to someone. After trying to log another complaint regarding the difficulty to get a hold of someone, I again tried to file a complaint. This time, I was speaking to the general customer service team and they told me that the actual credit card department team would have to file the complaint on my behalf. They put me on hold for over another hour to no avail.
I called again two weeks ago and spoke to someone on the credit card disputes team. They said that I should expect a temporary refund on the disputed charge as of August 3rd. They also gave me their direct phone number (1 855) 417 1767. I have checked my current credit card statement via my account and do not see the charge to be reversed.
I called the number today and was put on hold for 47 minutes until someone picked up. They lied and told me that the number was for their debit card department. After telling them that no, I have spoken to someone with this number from the credit card department, they rudely cut me off and put me back on hold again. I gave up at the 1 hour and 38 minute mark. I have now emailed their customer complaints handling department. I am debating on packing my bags and moving to another bank.
