So I gave my friend a compliment on their post and was like “so pretty 😍” and they replied with all you! Now I really don’t know what this means and now I feel slow

If you’re Australian then yes definitely, other regions maybe not. ‘Says you!’ In response to a compliment or insult is effectively reversing the insult/compliment, and is similar to saying “that’s rich coming from you” but without the inherent negativity.
However, “says you!” is interpreted in different regions to mean “so says you” or “you say that (but I don’t)”. So be careful where you use this because the meaning appears to be highly regional.
I've grown up with people using the phrase 'Says you' after a compliment. I personally have interpreted it as 'Look at you, you're so pretty'. So if somebody says this phrase to you ('Says you') ask them in which way they mean it instead of thinking that they're being mean.
Do other people say that after being insulted?
I’ve always thought that it’s a neutral phrase to say but apparently it is not.
There is a high likelihood that I’m using the phrase wrong.
I’ll start first , “ that’s beautifully worded”.
God I just feel like everything is real again and finally I’m able to express myself in a way that’s not too complicated. I struggle a lot with communicating how I feel a lot of time because it’s either too intense for me to even understand or it’s finding the right and exact words that describe the emotion. But when I can , and someone actually understands , I get this overwhelming joy that buzzes throughout my whole body . I just float . I feel light .
Your go!
