We (me and S.O.) have had a T420 and T430. Also an X131e.
Now she has a new (to her) T470s, I'm looking at an X390.. so we need a new dock.. and I looked and it seems like it is my choice, both machines will work with the USB-C Dock Gen2 or with the Thunderbolt 3 dock. My machine will work better with the Thunderbolt dock but seems like either dock will work as we only have one 2K monitor + ethernet, kb, mouse. But I'm kinda leaning toward TB3 just for future needs...
But I also see this "Hybrid USB-C" dock, and I'm wondering.. will this work with our older machines and if so, is the functionality/performance good enough to be useful? If so, maybe it's worth forgetting about Thunderbolt for now.
Or, can I just put an adapter on the Thunderbolt dock and get the same compatibility as with the older docks?
Anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
Hi Marrion,
I wanted to inform you that I am currently using the Logitech M185 mouse, which features a single USB receiver for both the mouse and keyboard.
Hi DurgaPrasadK,
Thank you for getting back on this here with us and sorry to hear that the steps suggested did not work. Please proceed with these steps below:
Open Device Manager
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
Do this on all the items or drivers listed under Universal Serial Bus controllers:
Double-click on the driver and see if Power Management tab is available
Uncheck the box next to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option then click OK
Close Device manager then test if still issue persists
Kind regards,
Marrion
I just picked it up and there are a ton of horrid reviews on this dock.
Mine seems to work mostly.
Using it for T14amd gen1.
2 monitors (hdmi and display port)
mouse
keyboard
printer
The only thing that isn't working is when i start up, my keyboard doesn't connect. I need to manually unplug the keyboard and plug it back in (steel series apex x).
Anyone else have this issue?
Update: Alright i got the keyboard to turn on at start up. I removed the keyboard usb to a main USB jack2 ...So the designated keyboard usb is empty
It's been a week and thus far everything works as advertised, before the firmware update and post update.
