What is your experience using TIKR as a Bloomberg Terminal alternative?
I've used the Bloomberg Terminal extensively over the course of a few years. I haven't used TIKR. In my opinion, there is no budget alternative that compares to the accuracy, robustness, and proprietary research that a Bloomberg terminal has. There are competitors that I have heard are comparable in the form of FactSet for research and Refinitiv for data, at comparable prices to a terminal. That all being said, I don't think most people will need the data speed and wide breadth of data provided by Bloomberg. In my eyes, the best alternative is Ycharts. Ycharts is what I now use, and I find it covers everything I need. They, however, don't have proprietary research. So that's what the 20k premium gets you from the above competitors. The thing I like about TIKR is that they are open to suggestions. They took my comment and included normalized earning on their estimates page, also they will include customizable variables in the global screener. I am still trying to figure out whether it's worth paying for it this much, since they won't be able to provide API access to their data any time soon. Also, the fact that they cover all global listed companies is amazing. It's two time less expensive than Koyfin (without graphing tools). For fundamental data, I did not find a better alternative yet. More on reddit.com

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are tykr.com and tikr.com related? I have used tikr before and from the screenshots here it even seems similar to this other tool. Do you have a comparison with tikr? More on appsumo.com

Having use this program for 6 months, I find it quite useful for company research. Having not used Bloomberg Terminal before nor being able to afford it, for those that have used both what are the main differences?

I've used the Bloomberg Terminal extensively over the course of a few years. I haven't used TIKR. In my opinion, there is no budget alternative that compares to the accuracy, robustness, and proprietary research that a Bloomberg terminal has. There are competitors that I have heard are comparable in the form of FactSet for research and Refinitiv for data, at comparable prices to a terminal. TIKR can be thought of as CapitalIQ lite. The underlying data is basically a subset of what CIQ offers. TIKR also doesn't have Excel API afaik. It also lacks integration with brokers, though just getting CIQ or BB won't solve your problems because you'll need to work out entitlements. CIQ, in turn, can be thought of as Bloomberg lite. It lacks the breadth of data, IB and bunch of functionality. But it works if you're just looking for fundamental and pricing data + news / filing links. If all you need are basic fundamental and price data + filings and incomplete transcript access the. TIKR will suffice. What Bloomberg offers is the breadth - not just equities but all kinds of financial instruments, commodities, economic indicators, etc. It basically wants to be your sole source of info. Then there is IB messenger, which if you're a trader / on fixed income desk, apparently is quite important. So no - you can't replace BB with TIKR.

I try using the formula:

But it's not working.
Right now I'm using notepad and manually tracking every stock and its metrics. As you can imagine it's very time consuming lol. Trying to automate it.
The way Tikr is coded, I don't think you can pull data from it. But not sure. Anyone know how to do it using Excel or Sheets?
