Why I chose this 55 inch tv wall mount (I test it, so you didn't have to)
Mounting 55 inch Bravia on an extendable arm - good or bad idea?
How safe is mounting a 55” TV on a floor stand?
Currently have 55" TV on single stud mount. Want a 65" but that needs 2 studs. Will throw off the 'center' of my tv-to-couch setup. Are there mounts that let you adjust the TV a bit to the side? Otherwise will be off ~8" I think?
Hey Everyone,
I wanted the importance of choosing the right TV wall mount for a 55 inch tv.
My #1 wall mount pick for 55 inch tv
Choosing the right TV wall mount might not be the most thrilling topic, but it can make a world of difference in your entertainment experience. A well-mounted TV not only saves space but also enhances your viewing pleasure and complements your home decor. If you're like me, you probably want your 55-inch screen securely anchored to the wall without any wobbling or tilting.
But with so many options on the market, how do you know which one is perfect for you? After all, nobody wants to deal with a flimsy mount that can't hold up their prized possession. That’s why I took it upon myself to test various 55 inch tv wall mounts so that you don’t have to go through that hassle. Whether you're setting up a cozy movie night or catching up on binge-worthy shows, choosing the right mount is essential for getting everything just right! Let’s dive into my journey of finding the best option available out there!
Reasons for choosing a 55 inch TV
Choosing a 55 inch TV strikes the perfect balance for many living spaces. It's large enough to create an immersive viewing experience but not so oversized that it dominates the room.
This size works well in various environments, whether you're watching movies with family or gaming with friends. It fits nicely on most walls without overwhelming your decor.
Also, many streaming platforms offer content optimized for this screen size. You’ll be able to enjoy everything from blockbuster films to binge-worthy series in stunning detail.
Another factor is flexibility. A 55 inch TV can easily adapt to both small apartments and larger homes while remaining visually appealing wherever it's placed.
With advancements in display technology, you get vibrant colors and sharp images at this size, enhancing every moment of entertainment.
Factors to consider when selecting a TV wall mount
When selecting a 55 inch TV wall mount, several key factors come into play. First up is weight capacity. Ensure the mount can handle your TV's weight to avoid accidents.
Next, consider the wall type. Different mounts suit various surfaces like drywall or concrete. This will impact installation and stability.
Then there’s flexibility. A full-motion mount allows for adjustments in viewing angles, which can enhance your experience significantly.
Think about ease of installation too. Some mounts come with handy instructions while others may require professional help.
Check compatibility with VESA standards. Not all TVs have the same mounting points; matching these ensures a secure fit that won’t let you down during movie night or gaming sessions.
My personal experience testing different mounts
Testing different 55 inch TV wall mounts was an eye-opening experience. Each mount presented its own set of challenges and advantages.
I started with a basic fixed mount. It felt sturdy, but adjusting the angle for optimal viewing was impossible. I quickly realized flexibility matters.
Next up was a tilting mount. This option allowed for some angle adjustments, which improved visibility during daytime TV sessions. However, installation complexity increased, making it less appealing.
The third contender featured full-motion capabilities. With this one, I could extend and swivel my TV in various directions. The freedom to adjust based on seating arrangements made it my favorite so far.
Throughout the testing process, I learned that ease of installation often goes hand-in-hand with functionality. Each choice has its trade-offs; finding balance is crucial when selecting the right fit for your space.
The top 3 contenders and their features
When it comes to 55 inch TV wall mounts, three contenders stood out in my testing journey.
The first is the Sanus VLT6-B1. This mount offers an impressive tilting feature that allows for optimal viewing angles while minimizing glare. Its easy-install design makes it a favorite among DIY enthusiasts.
Next up is the Vogel’s EFW8304. Known for its solid build quality, this mount supports both tilt and swivel functionality. It also includes a cable management system, keeping everything neat and tidy behind your TV.
I tested the Mounting Dream MD2380. This budget-friendly option doesn’t skimp on features; with its full motion capability, you can easily adjust your screen to any position you desire. The installation process was straightforward too—perfect for those new to mounting TVs.
Each of these mounts has unique strengths tailored to different needs and preferences.
Pros and cons of each mount
Each mount has its strengths and weaknesses. The first contender, the heavy-duty full-motion mount, offers incredible flexibility. It allows you to position your TV at almost any angle, ideal for large rooms. However, it can be cumbersome to install and pricier than alternatives.
Next up is the fixed mount. This option is straightforward and budget-friendly. It keeps your TV close to the wall for a sleek look. Sadly, once it's up there’s no adjusting it without some effort—great if you never change your setup but limiting in terms of viewing angles.
We have the tilting mount. It's a happy medium between the other two options. You get some adjustability while maintaining a low profile on the wall. On the downside, it doesn't offer as much movement as full-motion mounts do; not perfect for every scenario but functional for most setups.
Final decision and why I chose this specific mount
After testing several options, I found my perfect match in the Mounting Dream UL Listed TV Mount.
This mount stood out for its versatility and ease of installation. It allows tilting and swiveling, making it adaptable to any room layout. Adjusting the angle felt seamless, ensuring a great viewing experience from various spots.
The build quality impressed me too. Made with sturdy materials, this mount holds my 55 inch TV securely without wobbling or shaking. That peace of mind is invaluable when you’re investing in your entertainment setup.
Another highlight was its sleek design that complements modern aesthetics flawlessly. Instead of being an eyesore on my wall, it enhances the overall look.
With all these features combined—functionality, strength, and style—I knew I had made the right choice with this specific mount for my 55 inch TV.
Conclusion - Importance of researching and testing before purchasing a TV wall mount
Choosing the right 55 inch TV wall mount is more than just a purchase—it's an investment in your viewing experience. The market is flooded with options, making it essential to do thorough research before committing to one.
Testing different mounts provided me with valuable insights into their features and functionality. I learned that not all mounts are created equal, and what works for one person may not work for another. It’s crucial to consider factors like weight capacity, installation ease, and design compatibility with your space.
My personal journey led me through several contenders, each offering unique advantages but also some drawbacks. Weighing these elements helped solidify my decision on which mount best suited my needs.
Taking the time to explore various products can save you from potential headaches down the line. By understanding what features matter most for your specific setup—be it flexible tilting or sturdy stability—you set yourself up for a seamless installation process and enhanced home entertainment experience.
Engaging in hands-on testing not only informed my choice but also ensured I made a well-rounded decision tailored specifically for my living space. Research isn't just recommended; it's necessary when selecting something as pivotal as a TV wall mount in today's tech-driven world.
Hi all,
Was looking of ditching my TV stand and mounting the TV on an extendable arm instead.
The goal would be to hide all equipment behind the TV on a shelf …. The Tv will never be flat against wall (so equipment can hide behind.
The arm I am looking at extends up to a mitre out from the wall plate
Possible challenges ….
-
Equipment IR sensors behind tv. Can be solved by IR repeaters
-
Will need to buy longer HDMI cables and audio out cables. No problem there
-
The KD-XD55 Bravia power block?!? Grrr … given the size and weight of the block … ideally that would need to live on the AV shelf behind TV. BUT the output cable is too short! 😔
Looking on Amazon - I can replace the block, but unclear from specs how long that cable is.
Anything else I should think of?
This is the exact arm
