If the stuff on your desk hardly ever needs to be unplugged, a surge protector zip-tied to the back of the frame with outlets facing toward the wall instead of down and a whole mess of other zip ties to keep cables snugged up against the frame is nearly invisible. DeskHaus frames are easy to zip tie things to since the rubber grommets leave a tiny gap all around between the frame and desk top. Edit: I was in the exact same boat researching cable trays then zip tied all my crap in about an hour as a placeholder and ended up liking it. For now anyway. More on reddit.com

I've shared my recommendation a few times. It works quite well, is cheap and sort of a cable snake/surge protector in one. I attempted to share my comment I usually share, but r/standingdesk is currently private Before getting my Apex Pro I stressed too much about getting just the right cable management setup and nearly paid a lot extra for integrated power and cable snake. Then I found a cheap and what I think is a great solution with a surge protector. I got it from Menards in store and have always struggled to find it online anywhere but just found it at Lowes https://www.lowes.com/pd/Globe-Electric-6-Outlet-1200-Joules-1625-Watt-1500va-Usb-Ac-with/1001864694 The braided cable is wonderful and acts as a cable snake in regards to being easy to position. I zip tied the surge protector to the bottom of my frame with the bottom of the strip facing the bottom of the top. Here's my guide to 10 minute cable management that's modular, easy to update, and takes no time at all to set up: Mount a 3 foot strip cord under the desk ( My suggestion ) Mount a J channel next to it ( My suggestion ) Throw all your cables in the tray Use cheap cable clips to route from place to place ( My suggestion ) If you want a nice looking braided cable going to the wall (purely aesthetic), I've used this one on my main setup. It's worked great. It's really ugly from the bottom, but here it is . NOTE: None of these links are affiliate links.
