I would honestly prefer my favorite candy bar or a bag of caramel popcorn. The thing with a lot of these mason jar baking kits is that there's no thought in them. Nothing individual. You're not giving me a gift, you're giving me a chore and a fairly generic one at that. If I want to bake, I can bake. I don't need someone to assemble a cute little kit for me (and I tend to cook and bake a lot so I'm pretty particular about the recipes I use). If you want to get me something to eat ... get me something to eat, not something I have to dirty dishes and cook. And at the very least, put some effort into making it personal to me. Demonstrate some understanding of who I am and the things that I enjoy. A giftcard to a restaurant or coffee shop is also fine. More on reddit.com

Not sure what to label this post, but figured what better place to discuss gift-giving ideas than with Redditors who like to gift & receive all sorts of things!
SO and I got a 12 pack of mason jars for a steal the other day. Coincidentally, we also have 12 coworkers we were planning on gifting something small to this holiday season. Our current plan is to make a big batch of shower steamers and fill the jars with however many steamers we can fit. Tie some ribbon and twine around them and BAM! 12 little gifts for everyone on our list.
You can do so many things with mason jars - from making little lamps to pre-made cocktails. Our idea is just a drop in the bucket of possibilities.
If you were to give or receive a mason jar gift this holiday season, what would you fill it with? How would you decorate it? Have you done something like this before?

Personally I’d like them filled with the tears of my enemies, but meh, being the season of goodwill and all, I’d settle for some instant hot chocolate drink powders, mini marshmallows, peppermint candy cane and chocolate stirrers! 😈

I love sweets in hard. But one year, I made soups. I used noodles, dried veggies, bouillon and seasonings, and put instructions on how much water to add and how long to cook them. They were will received. One year, I also made refrigerated strawberry preserves (i.e, no canning needed). Those were amazing!
