Some of us need to hear it. I worked at UPS for two years and nobody could ever convince me it’s better than the postal service. I’ll second everything you said and add a bit of my own from my experience. I actually liked that I only got about 22 hours a week, I wish I could work part time like that with the usps, I know that’s not sustainable for everyone but the benefits were great and everything over 4 hours was 1.5x pay. The management though. Omg! They will yell at you, give you punitive assignments, try and convince your coworkers to gang up on you. The revolving door of part time supervisors is their secret weapon. They convince low performing handlers that slipped through probation it’s a promotion, bully them into harassing you, move them around until they get too many harassment grievances and then fire them. I’ve not had any bad managers or supervisors during my time with the postal service, I actually have had a few really good experiences. I do believe there are bad ones out there when people say it, I know some of the brutality that upper management dishes out to make more that way too. But I had much more than one supervisor yell at me, harass me, and stalk me when working at UPS. The estimated wait time for a driver position at my location was 6 years and for indoor combo it was even more. More on reddit.com

In my anecdotal experience, the bigger the center/hub the better. I went from a small center where one full time driver opening bid sheet would have 3 pages of signatures with seniority dates going back to the 90s. I transferred to what turned out to be the largest hub (totally different state). They put up one bid sheet a few weeks ago for 6 full time RPCD/DSP positions. 15 or so people signed up and I got the email to apply and will be attending INTEGRAD in about a week from now. And that's with super low seniority (due to the transfer). I've been with UPS part time for less that 3 years (not including my seasonal months). More on reddit.com
