This question is a bit odd. If you don’t think it’s that troublesome, then there's no need to buy it. In fact, didn’t you forget to bring a certain cable and had to borrow one from someone? This device is meant to prevent those kinds of situations. I’m not sure if you need to bring a laptop, but before I bought my 3 in 1 wireless charger, I was carrying four cables. I had to use a separate pouch just for all the cables and adapters. But now I only need one adapter and a foldable charger smaller than my phone. More on reddit.com

It not working with your use case. I use this exactly adapter on my ROG Ally. The PD port is power only, no data so it won't connect to the X3. Only the side port carry data. More on reddit.com

What kind of phone do you have? For most phones, I'd recommend a 30W charger. Some phones like Samsung have a 45W fast charging option but those charging speeds are negligible for time spent on a charger. I'd go with chargers that have PPS and PD 3.1 as charging protocols. Tons of great companies to choose from. I've bought the following: Anker (buy through Costco or Amazon for good deals), Nimble Wireless, Scosche, Amazon Basics. Really just make sure you are picking a safety rated charger (UL or PSE) and not some random Amazon brand and you should be good. For cables, you can do a 240W cable so you have cross coverage with a potential USB C Laptop. The brands above have good cables as well but have also used Ikea, Cable Creation, JSAUX, Fasgear and Monoprice and they have all generally been pretty solid. I personally use braided cables. For non braided cables, Anker or Apple's cables typically last very long and handle quite a lot of abuse. Didn't have a lot of good luck with Amazon's non braided cables but your mileage may vary.

I had no idea something like this existed at first. I only knew Apple sold wireless chargers. It wasn’t until I borrowed a Lightning cable from a colleague to charge my AirPods during a business trip that he mentioned it to me. I looked it up and saw it's priced over $100. But acutally I didn’t realize how annoying it was to carry multiple charging cables when traveling. I mean, it is a bit of a hassle, but I feel like it’s just one of those things you have to deal with when you travel. It hasn’t reached the point where I feel like I need to buy something extra to solve it.
Has anyone here used one? What’s your take on it? Is it necessary?

Cables weigh less. I bring a travel converter block even in the US because I can plug everything in at once in any country I’m visiting.
