The USB-C port on modern iPhones and iPads is actually pretty full featured. You can plug in USB-C to HDMI adapters, USB-C to network adapters, a USB flash drive… It all seems to work. Plugging an iPhone into wired ethernet is actually pretty funny when you think about it. More on reddit.com

All of my devices use USB-C except my AirPods and most of the people I know have iPhones. Are there any good USB-C to Lightning adapters I can get so I can still use my chargers? I've heard that adapters like that can be damaging for devices but I don't know if there's much truth to that.

There are USB-C PD to lighting cables that comes as complete set. I would use those compared to standard USB-A to lightining. However Apple did get slapped with you must upgrade everything to support USB-C. Iphone 15 is supposed to support USB-C then. With those changes they should be changing their other devices to support USB-C also.
