Should I buy Kawai GX-2 new or used? Is this price reasonable?
Kawai upright piano found at goodwill for 35$, can’t imagine what this would retail for new.
What is a used Kawai CN25 worth?
That seems like a good deal. Here is a CN25 review which includes price information.

Hi!
I've recently decided it's time to get myself a piano after 20yrs of playing and 11yrs of teaching! The other day I played 30 different grands, which included the Kawai GL-10 and GL-20, ultimately falling in love with the Kawai GX-2. It was priced on sale for $38,995 (after taxes: $41,334.70). The shop will deliver, then come back once it's settled in the new environment to tune and regulate the piano. It's brand new, with the 10yr warranty on parts and labor. And will come with a bench of my choice.
After agreeing to buy this $40k piano (didn't put a deposit down or anything, just signed a receipt paper), I did some research online and I'm struggling to see the difference in buying someone's "barely used" GX-2 for prices between $22k-$29k. If it was $30k brand new I'd feel a lot better about this purchase. I'm struggling to see the value.
I saw someone post this thread seeking advice on the pricing for the GX-2. However this was back in 2017 and I'm noticing that the average sale price was vastly different than what I'm seeing online and in person now..which concerns me.
This piano is everything I want, as far as I can tell, I'll never need or want another piano for the rest of my life. It's a bit more than I want to pay..and I was aiming to spend around $15k-$20k. I walked in planning to buy the GL-10, which turned out to not be what I want at all. The GL-20 was extremely close, but it felt to me like a good "starter grand" and I'd likely want to sell it for something nicer in the future.
These are my concerns- is this too steep of a price for what is being offered?
Is it REALLY worth buying a brand new piano or should I shop around and wait for a used one?
When you find a piano that you truly match with, is it unlikely that you'll come across another that fits all your needs? (..is this piano THE ONE and I'm taking a risk if I don't get this?)
I'll be getting a 1 year interest free loan, I can pay off a third of it now, but will have to be extremely frugal for the next year to make this happen. (Unless I want to pay interest fees.)
This is an emotional decision, and I don't want to feel buyers remorse. This piano will bring me great joy on a regular basis. Having others input will greatly help!
