Look, it isn't just a matter of lining up some pins, or paying for a part that does a certain Job. People here are talking about inverters and DC vs AC and stuff, but I'll use a simpler example - water. Most standard wall outlets put out A LOT of power. Think of a fire hydrant vs a drinking straw. The outlet could give you so much power, and some things, like powerful vacuum cleaners or electric cooking stoves could use all of it. But a lot of things don't. They just take part of it. Imagine a fire hydrant to garden hose adapter - it supplies a much smaller amount of water. Those are like light bulbs, the power supply in your fridge, and the brick for your laptop. Then there is the hydrant to drinking straw adapter - a USB power adapter. It supplies that 5v little trickle of power from an immense source available to it. All USB ports put out this very weak voltage, so just as we couldn't fight fires from drinkng straws, we can't up convert the USB voltage to a wall outlet. Even if you could adapt the 5vdc into 12vdc, there isn't enough power there to actually let your wii turn on. Now, there are inverters to from DC to AC, which you find in cars. This is because the cars electrical system is similarly very powerful. It may not be a hydrant, but it can provide quite a lot of power. This is enough to run an inverter and power small AC accessories with it - but not a hair dryer or a large television - usually something smaller, like battery chargers or power for small tools and electronics - the kind of thing its hard to find 12v car adapters for. tl;dr it's easy to go from hydrat to a drinking straw, but hard to go the other way. You’re probably not going to find an inverter that runs off USB. The reason is that USB can only provide about 15W of power while most 120V appliances take way more than that. Here’s a power bank that can be solar charged and provides up to 100W on its AC output. Yes, any international plug adapter with USB ports will be putting out USB-appropriate voltages regardless of whether you're on 110 or 240. That said, the ports are usually just rated for 5V and low amperage, appropriate for charging a phone at the default speed.
