2k-50k depending on various factors such as page count, if I’m writing the content / blog posts, how much content, how much SEO optimization needs to go into said content, paid SEO and other tools needed for the project, things like creating custom icons, custom section dividers, custom components, how much custom code needs to be added and what language, api integration, aftercare, team training on how to use the site, edit content or use the integrated tools like heat maps and analytics, and what the specific project timeline and requirements are. There’s a lot more that goes into pricing but these are examples of the main things that I factor in. I also almost exclusively provide full service Branding/Logos, Webflow Website, SEO, Content Creation, Marketing & Aftercare Packages that include everything a company would need to go from an idea, to a fully fledged brand with a unique identity, fully functional and content rich website and a fleshed out digital footprint / marketing campaign. It saves the client more money and headaches because they don’t have to hire multiple different agency’s or freelancers for each design / development aspect, keeps everything in-house which eliminates delays because of lag in communication / response times and I offer discounts for purchasing these All-in-One packages or discounts for purchases that bundle even just a couple of services together. I personally have some clients that I always give discounts to, regulars mostly or friends and family. I always give a first time customer discount of 10%-20% and I give other people or clients a 5%-10% referral bonus if the total project cost for every client they refer to me. But I deliver a premium, unique and well made product with some built in or standard features for each and every project, such as a Notion Client Project Hub and Portal where all project contracts, invoices, client questionnaire’s, tasks/goals, project timeline/stages, all site content, mood boards, logos, etc.. I also provide Style guides for Branding projects, multiple logo concepts that increase based on which package they buy, clothing and other 3D or Photoshop mock-ups for logos, as well as multiple Figma Designs for websites so I can test and show different page concepts to the client, to give them and their team a nice range of options to choose from and then I edit them from there on out based on what they like and don’t like from each concept. (I actually have the Notion Client Project Hub and Portal Template for anybody that wants it. It’s another 2-4+ hours in project time to completely set it up with all of the client / project info, goals and other content. But it makes it soooo much more organized and easy for the client to see what’s being done at every stage of the project. It’s a complete hub for all of your client projects, not individual files for each project that you have to keep duplicating. Just enter each project into the and you give the client access to their specific project folder via sharing to their email. PM or comment if you are interested!) I also bill in multiple ways. Mostly by flat project fee with variables for changes. But I also allow monthly retainers or subscriptions, and a mix of the two at the same time for some clients depending on their requirements. Sometimes I price based on value of the work / site which is more of a flat rate but usually more expensive. This is newer for me, but what can I say, I know I the value of the work that I provide. And I’m tired of underselling that value. I actually learned this method from Chris Doa on @ The Futur on YouTube. If you guys want to connect & network or want more tips, e-guides, free design resources and templates, you can follow me on Instagram @nitro_foundry_designs and @ Nitro Foundry Designs on everything. (Behance, Twitter (I refuse to call it X, I don’t care lol.), Dribbble, Facebook, Etc.. I’m dropping a bunch of content this month that starts off with a multiparty e-guide for building an unique and professional website and will include all of things that I mentioned above. It’s mostly my work at the moment but part 1 of the e-guide and the Notion Client Project Hub drops on Monday. But I’ll message it to anybody that wants it now. I hope some of this helped! r/webflow on Reddit: Webflow pricing feels unfair for small creators (especially outside the US)
November 7, 2025 -

Title Edit: “Wish Webflow had a middle-tier CMS plan for smaller projects”

I genuinely love Webflow — the editor feels like magic, animations are buttery smooth, and it’s honestly one of the most satisfying no-code tools I’ve ever used.

That said, I really wish Webflow had a plan that fits smaller projects better.

Here’s what I mean:

  • Basic plan ($14/mo) → 150 static pages, no CMS

  • CMS plan ($23/mo) → 150 pages, 20 CMS collections, 2,000 items

That jump from no CMS to full CMS feels massive for someone who just wants to build a portfolio, a blog, or a couple of small client sites.

I don’t need 150 pages or 20 CMS collections — something like 50 pages, 5–10 collections, and 500–1,000 items would fit perfectly.

It’s not about regional pricing or discounts — it’s just that Webflow’s current tiers skip over a huge group of creators, students, and freelancers who love the tool but can’t justify paying for features they’ll never use.

Would love to see a “lite CMS” plan someday. Feels like it could open the door for a lot more independent builders to stay within the Webflow ecosystem.

r/webflow on Reddit: I am frustrated by the webflow pricing
January 18, 2024 -

Help me out guys. I am a former SEO expert and article writer but I wanted to venture into web design. My first stop was obviously webflow since It's long learning curve teaches you lot's of stuff on web design which works for me. Also, I have seen a lot of job postings on people looking for webflow experts and that's really motivating. However, I am stuck on the pricing. I have to pay for a workspace and also their hosting plans are quite unfavourable especially since I'm from a third world country (Kenya). I am really eager to learn web design without the traditional approach of starting with HTML, CSS , Python and all that. So my question is...how can I learn webflow and use it to create websites without their costs?

Hey Juma, I'm also Kenyan so here's the 3rd world game plan. First of all, everyones right. Use webflow for free and get your client to pay for your workspace. Also, Wordpress would be better for Kenyan clients but in case you want to stick to Webflow, here're a few tricks. Most employers and clients will want to see 3-4 examples so get 3 gmail accounts and make 3 webflow accounts. Each free account can allow up to two sites each so that's 6 sites at your disposal. Start learning on Webflow University with the free sites and get the fundamentals down. When you are feeling ready to start working on projects, make projects on the other accounts and leave the main one to hold your portfolio and a future client project. You'll realize that the free sites cannot go beyond 2 pages (eg you get just home and about unless you buy a plan) but you can get around this by cloning templates from an Agency called Finsweet that has around 8-9 pages. This may or may not make sense right now but it will come handy later. You can do some pretty cool work with just native webflow and no custom code on the free plan, I made this site on the free plan with the strategy above. 2.5 Make your portfolio website and link all those sites across your different accounts. Nobody can tell/cares 3. At some point, since Webflow cannot do everything, you will need to supplement with some custom code, so while you learn webflow I'd reccomend learning basic html, css and JS as well. I personally haven't heard python mentioned in the Webflow environment . I reccomend The Odin Project as it is what I currently use. In order to write code in Webflow you'll have to pay for a plan. Practice your custom code outside Webflow before you can pay for your webflow account/when looking for clients. 4. When you get your first client, depending on what you charge (I wouldn't go below Ksh 25k), use that money to pay for the workspace plan with 10 sites on your main webflow account (remember you had 3) for a month. *Build the client website first* and then pay for the workspace plan to export the site and host it somewhere cheaper. Most Kenyans wont be ok hosting on Webflow. Now that you have your workspace, use those 30 days to transfer all the projects from your other accounts into your paid account and add all the custom code you have been learning and want to show off, if any. Transfer all those sites back to your other accounts before your subscription is over as only two sites will be accessible after. 6. Rinse and repeat until you get a steady stream of clients to pay for your expensive webflow habit. Again, if you just want to just work with Kenyan clients I'd probably go for wordpress. It's the standard. Webflow would be more suitable if you wanted to work with international clients and agencies. Webflow will be more "work" and you have to game the system a few times in the beginning. Whatever you do, don't stagnate during your learning phase because you can't afford a plan at whatever time. Just find other things to do or a workaround and implement it when you can pay.

You can create a couple of basic websites on the free plan, plenty to get decent at HTML and CSS. Once you get a client, make them subscribe for a plan and develop the website in their account. Note: you can only use custom code in paid plans. Rinse and repeat until you earn enough to afford a workspace plan. If you plan on selling websites in third world countries, I suggest you look at other options as well, like Wordpress, since it’s much more affordable. Webflow is hands down the best low code website builder, but it is kind of expensive. Good luck on your journey, you’re in for a ride and a lot of learning! 🙂

July 17, 2025 -

Hey everyone,
quick question for the community

How do you feel about Webflow’s site pricing? I’m talking specifically about the two most common ones: Basic $18/m and CMS $29/m

Do those numbers feel reasonable to you for what you get? Or a bit on the high side?

If you had the power to set the pricing, what would you make these plans cost?

Curious to see how everyone else thinks about this, since these are probably the plans most of us end up using.

r/webflow on Reddit: Webflow hosting costs 🤔
April 20, 2024 -

If you're a solopreneur using Webflow hosting at scale gets expensive quick.

I'm wondering how soon before people build something that lets them design & build in Figma/webflow and export, deploy, and host in a reasonably scalable manner.

The allure of WordPress open source back in the day makes sense to me.

I coach several designers to help them build their businesses and seeing how quickly multiple sites add up on the PNL makes me 🤔

For someone on enterprise webflow like me supporting larger brands, it makes total sense but for the little guys, I can see why so many stick with Squarespace, Wix, or Framer given the costs.

Thoughts?

I'm trying to figure out what pricing plan to choose from as I'm currently going through the "21-day design portfolio course" and at certain moment I faced the limitations of the free plan, namely a limited amount of utility pages and no access to a custom code option.

Due to this issue I'm unable to proceed further without choosing a plan and paying for it.

What pricing plan would you suggest for a newbie kick start and what plan would be the best later on to avoid any webflow limitations and accept clients without fear of switching towards more expensive options? I mean the cheapest most optimal option for both cases.

P.S. It's a bit unpleasant to realize half way through the course that in order to receive a whole understanding of the tool you need to pay almost from the start.

I suggest you go for the Workspace plan. That'll let you use custom code and CMS, and you'll be able to create up to 10 unhosted sites.

I totally understand your frustration—running into limitations midway through a course can be a buzzkill. Free plans are great for starting, but as you've seen, they can be pretty limiting when it comes to things like custom code, etc. Let’s break down your options for now and the future: Limited utility pages: When you mention utility pages, do you mean search functionality? That’s only available with CMS plans and above on a per-site basis. Do you need to host your portfolio site? If you're building your portfolio and need it on a custom domain, the CMS Site Plan will unlock most premium features for that one site. However, keep in mind that this only applies to one site. If you're planning on building multiple sites soon and don't need to publish yet, a Workspace plan is more flexible. Freelancing and building for clients: If you're working on multiple client sites, the Freelancer Workspace Plan is your best bet. It lets you build in your own Workspace or in the client’s, and you only need to get a Site Plan when you or the client are ready to publish on a custom domain. TL;DR: Hosting your portfolio site? Go for a Site plan (CMS and above). Building multiple sites but not ready to host? Choose the Freelancer Workspace Plan. Freelancing and no personal sites needed? There's an option to get a Site Plan for each client site to unlock the features you need to build the site, and charge the client for the plan from day one. That way you won't need to pay for a Workspace plan. HOWEVER, note that some features are only available on Workspace plans, and others (like add-ons) on Site plans. So make sure to read the FAQs and check the features list of each plan on the pricing page . Pro Tip: Definitely compare the Webflow plans on the pricing page and make sure you’re aware of bandwidth needs, as that can impact hosting costs. If freelancing is in your future, make sure to read Webflow’s Terms of Service to understand any potential limitations! Hope that helps, and let me know if you need more clarity. Also, good luck with the rest of the course and your freelancing career!

I have recently decided to upgrade my plan from starter to basic, which costs $14/mon. My question is, is hosting included in this $14 monthly fee, or does it cost extra? I come from a Wordpress background where, of course, it is up to the user to purchase hosting elsewhere in order to launch the site on the Internet. Sorry if this may seem like a dumb question, I just wanted to be sure before making a decision on whether to move my portfolio site to Webflow or just stick with Wordpress.

r/webflow on Reddit: Webflow Pricing - need help understanding to choose right deal

Hi folks,

Background:

I graduated from a UX/UI bootcamp. I need a website to showcase my projects, prototypes etc. I’d love to code one myself but it will take some time before my web dev skills reach the level required to build something I’m satisfied with. I initially tried squarespace/WIX/Format/UXFolio and pretty much every site builder under the sun before deciding I want to go with Webflow. I really liked some of the templates in the store and wanted to purchase one and then insert my content etc.

My site needs the following:

-Projects (home page) -About -Contact -I will need to add a new page for every project I upload.

  • links to dribbble, behance, linkedin and other socials

  • currently own a domain and have a subscription to a web hosting company due to expire in a couple of months

Questions:

  1. What is the difference between a site plan and account plan (do I need one or both?)

  2. Which of those plans do I need if I want to either:

  • build the site in webflow and have my existing web host company host my site

  • build the site in webflow and let webflow host the site also (so everything in webflow)

Thanks for your help!

Congrats on finishing the bootcamp.

First off, try not to use a template, you've just finished a course in design, create something for yourself.

For the plans, an account plan is only necessary if you plan on making multiple sites and want the ability to export code, do site transfers have enhanced staging etc. It's for people building for clients.

You just need a free account to get going and then add a site plan so you can host with a custom domain, the level of site plan will depend on what you want to use. CMS is probably the way to go for a portfolio as it will make updates easy, but I'm sure a Basic will work too if you don't plan on using the cms.

WF accounts are easy to upgrade/downgrade so you can always change in the future.

In case anyone is as confused by Webflow's pricing as we were, even after their latest change, here are a few pointers.

First of all, you'll need a Site plan (or E-commerce plan) by default.

Which Site plan to go for:

  • If you're just starting out with designing websites, stick with the free Starter plan.

  • Go for the Basic plan once you get your first client or are building a simple, non-CMS site that needs to be on a live domain (ie your portfolio).

  • Go for the CMS plan if you need to display some content (blog posts, collection lists) on a site.

  • Go for the Business plan if you need to display a lot of content.

As for Workspace plans, stick with the free plan until you exceed 2 unhosted sites or need other people to collaborate.

We did a more detailed post about Webflow pricing if it helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

I understand that we are transitioning to a "workspace" model with a new pricing structure, but I'm confused AF.

From what I can see, I would need to pay;

$49/month for Growth Workspace (Just the account?)

$70-$280/month, depending on how many users want access to the shared projects

$12-36/month for hosting per project.

So as a two-person team ($70) with a Webflow account ($49) and 3 basic projects ($12*3) I would be expected to pay $155 per month?

Am I right or have I missed something?

If I'm right, isn't this a bit on the expensive side?

Edit: "12*3 instead of 36"

I find it ironic that even though Webflow is such an easy to use app, the pricing structure is almost completely incomprehensible. I'm just as confused now as I was before reading this post. I think they need to fix this and make it really simple and easy to understand. Maybe a small, medium, large sort of model would be beneficial.

With two people, you could use the mid-tier plan which I believe is $15/user (so $30/Mo) + hosting per site. The Webflow account doesn't cost an additional $49/Mo, but if you want unlimited unhosted sites - or more than 3 users in the Workspace - then that is the cost per seat (instead of $15). So if you have 4 people, the cost goes up to $196/Mo. In most cases, clients are fine with basic editor access to the site, so they don't get added as another "seat" to count against your billing. However, if the client wants access to the admin, this is where things get silly. You can't let them access your team Workspace as that would mean they would have access to all of your other projects. So, instead, you have to setup another Workspace, with brand new "seats" that require separate billing. In your case, it would be $45/Mo (3 users) plus hosting ($16-$36/Mo). If you add another team member, that per seat cost skyrockets up to $49/seat. So, essentially, Webflow is punishing anybody that wants to scale. We have several developers so we'd have at least 4 per Workspace. If we were to follow this method with all of our clients, we would be spending $50k+ per year, purely for a feature that is free on every other platform. It's insanity. We are currently restructuring to offering projects on other platforms as a direct result of these changes.

Hello Everyone! I am looking to create my portfolio [as a digital enterprise management specialist student, as well as a User-interface & graphic designer and digital marketer]

For the last few weeks I have been exploring webflow and so far I am liking this!! its really flexible and offers great features even for people that are not great with coding (like me). I am used to Wordpress and have used WIX before but still I find webflow to be a bit more modern and versatile.

My question:

As I said above- is it worth buying a paid plan for portfolio purposes? or is there another alternative to webflow?

with the basic plan currently I dont care too much about the domain being weblow.io, but the branding watermark in the published site is something thats ruining the experience..... any advice?

So I just finished creating a site for my client. I use a freelancer plan which is roughly $28/month (I think they just increased it from $24/month). If you pay yearly it’s cheaper.

Now am surprised when I transfer the site to the client…and the client get a basic plan for $18/month…there is no option for me to be added as a designer or collaborator. For that to happen they have to get an even bigger plan. Mind you this is a simple 5 pages website with no CMS.

I don’t think Webflow is heading to the right direction…it’s becoming super expensive for no reason.
