December 1, 2025 - GA4 doesn’t offer a built-in website heatmap page analytics extension feature. Google retired the google analytics heat show feature from the old Page Analytics chrome extension in 2019, leaving users to rely on third-party tools for this functionality.

What's the best heatmap tool that's mostly being used right now?
For a small ecommerce site, Hotjar and Crazy Egg are popular and easy to use, but if budget’s tight, Microsoft Clarity is totally free and gives heatmaps plus session recordings. Mouseflow is another beginner-friendly option if you want a bit more detail. Start with Clarity, then move up as you grow. More on reddit.com

Can I visualize Google Analytics data in a heatmap?
You can visualize Google Analytics data as a heatmap by creating a tabulated heatmap in Excel or Google Sheets. First, export data from your analytics tool as a .CSV or create a pivot table, then apply conditional formatting to add different colors to cells based on their value ranges. Or, you can use the free heatmap tool from Contentsquare to automatically generate different types of heatmaps.

February 19, 2021 -

Although it seems very obvious to me as the web analytics manager but my users looking at the numbers can't seem to see it.

Any recommendations on a Heat map software that works with GA data (o with to minimize the overhead) than can help my users see in a graphical form how the numbers resolve?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

March 10, 2025 - This isn't super possible within GA4. Your best bet would be installing either HotFrog or MouseFlow onto the site.
