What is an endpoint? ELI5?
It's just a location or URI from which data can be obtained/updated/created in a RESTful API. Very basic example could be /api/users This could be the users data endpoint where you grab users data by placing a GET request to this URI. This could be basic data on ALL users. Another end point may be: /api/users/[user_id], where you get more data specific to a single user. Endpoints can vary greatly depending on how the API is designed, but simplest way to think about it is an endpoint is any RESTful API accessible URI from which you can get, put, post, and delete. Is becoming a contrarian the natural endpoint?

You have to make a choice- are you going to chase the high, or are you going to accept your new state of being? Yes, there is no going back. You are living in a state of heightened awareness (when it comes to movies at least). There are always new discoveries, and they are worth seeking out. But the majority of stuff you come across will not be mind-blowing. Maybe watching a movie doesn't have to be about that anymore.

My favorite kind of movie has stopped being mind-blowing, now my favorite kind of movie feels like cozying up with a warm blanket. Or descending deep into a dark ocean. If you focus on pursuing a shock to the system, you'll end up fetishizing shock for its own sake, which ultimately is very shallow.

All that being said, you will ultimately be surprised by what you don't know about things you thought you know. Returning to the works of the masters, there are always layers to uncover, even when you think you've uncovered it all.

Endpoint Management Suite Recommendation
We have 750 asset license for Service Desk Plus and Desktop Central. It works for what we need. We use DC as our patch management, software deployment tool, and remote assistance. We have a lot of field staff so we setup the Secured Gateway where they're accessible 24/7 (DC is on-premise for us). We've been happy with it. Support is really quick and been great to work with. You can whitelist apps and set them up in a repository where a user can click the DC icon in the system tray and install the app (and even open a ticket if you integrate it with ServiceDesk). There are a lot of automation things that we're slowly moving into (create ticket alert if unauthorized app found or removed, auto push app if missing, etc.) We do NOT use DC for OS/image deployment, but you can. We don't deploy enough machines and don't have enough remote use-cases to justify it (we image locally and hand off to end user). It does come with a basic MDM solution, but we use it in more of a one-off situation (setup a kiosk tablet and have a handful of iPad's one department uses --- use it to push purchased apps). Personally I'd think you'd want to go with DC if you already have ServiceDesk. *Also has remote tools like you were mentioning. If you have any questions, shoot me a message. More on reddit.com

Need some advice with Endpoint Security!

Can the people in this sub please try and do better. This is such a FAQ it was only asked two hours earlier:

https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/ps2yeh/endpoint_protection_options/

If people in this sub asked how to manage printers two hours apart, they'd be downvoted and people would ask them to use the search. But people love this question for some reason. It's heavily manipulated. For the most recommended product (Cortex, with four recommendations), every single person who recommended it was downvoted.

It generates upvotes for extremely low effort responses. poster says "traditional or all cloud?". Answer with literally one word with a product name and have some upvotes.

OP: Some products, such as Symantec, are dead. In general, most of the market is pretty good. You will not get the best solution based on marketing material about "blocking REvil", and you will not get value by purchasing an EDR product and not investing time in monitoring and response. You might get value by reading responses on this sub, for which you should consider the search option.
