24” min per person 30” is more than enough It’s also good to leave some room behind everyone so 36” from the table on each side (could probably be less but that allows for people to walk around the table while everyone is eating So your table length becomes ~107” and 4 adult humans can sit comfortably on each side (~27” each) If you are more than 10 people you have the space to go with a wide table that can fit 2 at each end when needed More on reddit.com

March 2, 2023Trying to fit a couch and a small dining table in a 12x12 living room. Help!
A table needs 9 feet if you're gonna sit on both sides of it. Even an apartment sized sofa is going to need 6'. So the space is too small for what you want. The ideal solution is one of those fold down tables with a couple upholstered dining chairs that can be used as occasional chairs. You could put it on the bedroom wall. The other option is banquette sitting in the balcony corner which can get you down to 6' and a short couch or preferably loveseat floating back to the kitchen and facing the wall to the top of the balcony door, which is where I'd put the tv. I currently have a 72" long table but am hoping to replace it with an 84" long table, which is a beautiful RH table a family member is selling for a great price.
