Hey all. Just moved to the city. I finally managed to secure my apartment but the problem now is getting some furniture. IKEA is being a pain... it seems like they have major supply issues and I have only managed to get ahold of the mattress and bedding.
Is there any place I can look for nice and affordable furniture? I'm in need of a couch, a bedside table, a coffee table, a small lamp, and a work desk. I tried etsy but most things are very expensive.
Ideally i'd like to order most stuff online or find places in the downtown area since I don't have a car but honestly any suggestions are welcome.

Kijiji. Every piece of furniture I own I got for free from someone who had to clean out his late 90 year old fathers condo. Everything is real wood and beautiful to boot. Got a 10 person table, 4 chairs, 4 side tables, coffee table, 2 lamps. I gave the guy $100 and i still have everything 3 years later. Hope this helps!

I'm moving soon to a new house and in the market for furniture. I'm a disabled veteran so while I'd like to be able to thrift or find some pieces on Marketplace, I do not have a truck or the physical ability to move heavy items on my own (also have no family or close friends to ask for assistance). So, I'm looking for websites/companies that have affordable quality furniture that I can have shipped to my home. I'm not sure I trust something like wayfair or overstock to be quality. If I'm going to be spending hundreds of dollars (if not more) I want it to be on something that is going to last, you know? Anyone have any experience or suggestions?

Depends on your range of “affordable”… Scandinavian designs has great high quality furniture for reasonable prices. Well made pieces from Italy or etc. You can check. IKEA is like the pocketbook-friendly version but it won’t be super high quality.
