Dryer Not Heating: Troubleshooting Guide | Whirlpool
August 18, 2022 - A clogged lint screen can reduce airflow and place additional stress on the heating system. Cleaning the lint screen may help the dryer to work better. Locate the lint screen at the top of the dryer or in the door opening and remove it. Open the lint screen if necessary, then remove the lint with your fingers. Close the lint screen and push it back into place. For cleaning after each load, be sure not to rinse the screen with water as wet lint is difficult to remove.

My first thought was failed heating element so i replaced that. Still no heat. When I replaced the heating element i thought i checked the thermal cutoff but when i checked it again today it was blown, totally could have checked it wrong last week but i remember it ohming out. the temp select switch might be the problem as i can only get continuity acrost 2 of the 3 selectors.
my current plan is to replace the temp select switch, the thermal cutoff and operating thermostat (which are sold as a pair), and the high limit thermostat. does this sound like a good plan or am i about to waist my money?
Is there anything else that is likely to be causing the problem?

Check the circuit breakers. I remember once something like this happened and it turned out that there were two lines grouped together and only one tripped causing this problem.
