Later, during March Of The Witch Hunters, the Tin Man (formerly known as Boq) tries to get the Lion to tell about what the Witch did to him, tugging on his tail (the rest of his body remains unseen), and since the Lion is reluctant to come out, Boq sings a verse about how if Elphaba had let the Lion fight his own battles, he wouldn't be so cowardly.

Believed to be the same in the Wicked Movie (Part Two), Fiyero returns as the Scarecrow when he helps Elphaba escape after she fakes her own death.

November 2, 2024 - Throughout the encounter, Elphaba is only gentle and sympathetic towards the cub, showing deep compassion. Elphaba and Fiyero go out into the woods somewhere near Shiz and set the lion cub free.

December 4, 2024 - Elphaba’s character is shown to have a strong streak of social justice and she despairs at what’s happening to the animals in Oz as they start getting treated like secondary citizens and are slowly losing their ability to speak. After fleeing into the forest, Elphaba shows kindness towards the small creature but what happens after she lets him go? Neither the film, musical nor the original Wizard of Oz filled in the blanks on how the Cowardly Lion grew up. Viewers met the lion cub in Wicked Part One.

November 23, 2024 - Something that has already been foreshadowed in Wicked through his lack of respect for academia and dropping out of so many schools before attending Shiz Univeristy. Unfortunately, after Elphaba was branded the enemy of Oz, Fiyero would later help intervene in her capture, resulting in him being tortured in a cornfield. In a desperate attempt to save him, she used a spell from the Grimmerie, mistakenly turning him into a scarecrow.
