r/witcher on Reddit: Official Netflix Ratings
December 13, 2023 -

Hi folks,

There's some really interesting data in that gigantic datadump Netflix have just done of all the most watched shows this year. Because it might be of interest to you all, here's the relevant parts:

Witcher Season 1 comes in at 171st most watched show, 72.2 million hours watched.

Witcher Blood Orgins is next, 202nd most watched, 65.3 million hours. This really surprised me.

Witcher Season 2. 233rd most watched. 59.3 million hours.

Witcher season 3. A fairly catastrophic drop to 556th. 33.4 million hours watched.

Witcher - Nightmare of the wolf. 5507th. 2.4 million hours watched.

So, yeah, some really surprising numbers in there. Who thought Blood Origins would have been so much more popular than Season 3?

Edited to add the link to the data if you want to see it yourselves:

‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Viewership Has Totally Tanked On Netflix
November 5, 2025 - This is the worst performance The Witcher has had to date by a significant margin. Season 3 had 15.2 million views during its premiere week in 2023. So, best case, with a few extra days, viewership maybe dropped by a third. Worst case, by half.

'The Witcher' Season 4 Premiere Viewership Down 35% from Season 3
Honestly, I just feel bad for the cast. This show was all the rage when season 1 launched, they can't be happy seeing the direction it's taken in the ensuing years. More on reddit.com

November 4, 2025 - As a staunch Witcher enthusiast- I have zero interest in watching. I’ve read every book, played every game etc. I’m absolutely fine with some artistic liberties- it doesn’t have to be word for word Sapkowski. For example I really enjoyed the additions of Yens back story in detail. But it is so bad I cannot continue. The first season? Loved. The second season I watched through once but by ...

November 5, 2025 - While The Witcher's viewership has been steadily declining since season 1, 7.4 million is a significant drop from season 3's 15.2 million views in the same timeframe. For comparison, season 2 raked in 18.5 million views during its opening weekend.

November 6, 2025 - But while "The Witcher" did manage to hit number one in seven countries and charted in 86 during its debut week, it failed to hit the overall top spot, which marks a first for the fantasy series. It should also be noted that season 4 did release on a Thursday, so while the Netflix charts cover a period from October 27 to November 2, 2025, this really only represents four days of viewership data.
