At my wit’s end… can anybody recommend shorts/other summer pants for petite curvy girls?
Are there women’s casual shorts that aren’t Booty shorts?
Khaki Short Recommendations
What kind of shorts do women wear?
EDIT: Omg, so many amazing suggestions!! Thank you all so much!
At my wit’s end… can anybody please recommend me some shorts or alternative summer bottoms?
I’m mid 20s F, 5’2, and about 120-125 lbs. Most of my weight is in my hip/thigh/butt area, and I’d describe myself as pear shaped. I consider myself on the stockier side, but I grew up skinny so I guess I’m still getting used to my adult weight.
For the last few years, I’ve dreaded summer because I can’t seem to find a lot of summery clothes that flatter me. I usually wear dresses and that works fine for the most part, but it gets annoying having to wear a dress every day for me personally. In the colder seasons I wear jeans. A lot. So naturally I’d like to find jean shorts (or honestly any kind of neutral short that pairs with anything).
My most common problems with jean shorts:
The angled up design is not flattering when my hips are the widest part of my body. (Like how most jean shorts have their leg cutouts angled upwards to seem shorter)
What fits my legs/butt doesn’t fit my waist. And I’m not talking a simple tailor take-in job, I’m talking major alterations level. My waist is 28 inches and my hips/butt circ is 38. Quick edit to add: each of my thighs are ~24 inches around at their widest point… so yeah I’m a pear
I strongly dislike shorts that have no shape in the bottom of the leg because quite frankly, I have a large butt and I don’t like worrying about it popping out when I bend or move. Also, the shorts riding up is a concern.
I don’t like baggy shorts, because again it isn’t flattering on my shape. I know shorts aren’t exactly the most leg elongating things, but I still don’t want to look stockier than I am.
Anyway, so my question. Any petite thick girls have shorts recs? Or if not shorts, cool summery pants/skirts? I can’t die of heat exhaustion in my jeans any longer…
