Tbh I’ve discovered a number of shops on Etsy that claim their items are handmade and sell them at a price that reflects this. Then a few weeks later I find the exact same item on Aliexpress for a mere fraction of the price and suddenly I find lots of other sellers on Etsy selling the same “handmade items” 🥲 More on reddit.com

I wanted to give my Wife a unique and unexpected build for Christmas this year. Her makeup is usually strewn across the top of the dresser, so I thought I could help that. I started by measuring the area of the dresser and all of her various makeup containers, and just went from there. I originally intended for everything to be glued together, but realized partway in to the build how difficult that would make finishing all the pieces. So with a few minor tweaks, I was able to make everything slip-fit for full disassembly. And now, it can be taken apart for easy cleaning! So now it’s a design function and is in no way associated with how tough it would have been to finish the sides inside of 1/2” wide slots… I made everything out of 2 4/4 walnut boards, resawed and planed down to 3/8” and 1/4” boards. I handcut the box joints instead of making a jig because I figured it would be faster, the jury’s still out whether that ended up being true. Sizing and layout for the holes in the top left surprisingly ended up being one of the trickier parts. The whole thing is finished with a few coats of satin poly for durability. More on reddit.com
