I have a Yamaha P-125 digital piano with a LP-1 pedal unit that's having a very strange issue. I have tried researching this issue to no avail. It seems to be a collection of issues so I will describe everything that's happening:
-
The volume slider has no effect on the volume of the keyboard. It is at a consistently low volume, regardless of the position of the slider. The keyboard emits sound even when the volume slide is in the far left position - "off".
-
The volume issue persists with headphones connected.
-
With the pedal unit connected, the "soft" (far left) pedal INCREASES the volume of the keyboard. This was an interesting find and led to the discovery that apparently turning the piano on/off with this pedal depressed can reverse the polarity of the pedal unit, causing this effect.
-
If the pedal unit is unplugged, the keyboard emits NO sound whatsoever.
I have tried "resetting" the polarity of the pedal unit by turning the keyboard on/off with the pedal depressed in various combinations. I've had no success with this. The left pedal seems perpetually stuck in "opposite" mode.
I have also factory reset the keyboard by holding down the highest white key on the keyboard while turning the keyboard in. The record & play/stop buttons flash a few times, indicating a successful reset, but the issue persists.
I am going to look into getting the keyboard serviced, but with the craziness going on in the world right now, getting into a shop is a little difficult.
If anyone has any ideas for me, I will be eternally grateful! Also - what servicing options do I have that allow shipment of the unit, opposed to in-person drop-off?
Thanks!
Whilst holding E3, no Bb's or E's will sound at the same time (any of them above C4.
I've tried a factory reset. Is this some weird setting ive enabled or is it a faulty keyboard?
This is driving me insane. I've been having issues with my headphone jacks. I tried everything even to the point of replacing them and talking with multiple tech guys. It's more than likely going to need a new main board, but it just doesn't make sense.
After much research, I found that it's possible that my software is corrupted. Well, there happens to be updated firmware available on the Yamaha website. Super cool right?? But how the hell do I install it!!? Everything I can find is wrong! I'm just trying to fix this without spending $300. It's not worth doing that but I need headphones!
Somebody for the love of God, help me!! Pleeeeeeaase!
