You wouldn’t want to expose a family member (and yourself) to often intrusive YouTube Video Ads (particularly non-skipable ads). Also, watching YouTube videos without ads makes a HUGE difference and viewing enjoyable. Currently (as of AUG 2025) Family membership costs A$39.99/montly (this option should be your first choice instead of the annual plan because you can “deactivate or cancel” anytime (if you do not see any benefits, or you want cheaper standard plan)).

I’m kinda confused right now. I only use YouTube for no ads — never touch Music, barely use any of the other perks. But I’ve been paying for the individual Premium plan and honestly… it feels way too expensive. Thing is, if I cancel, the ads drive me insane. If I keep it, I feel like I’m wasting money. So I’m stuck in this dumb loop.
Curious what you guys are doing — are you on free, Premium, family, or annual? Do you think it’s worth it for how much you use YouTube? Like, what’s the “fair” price in your head?
