Looking for 1920s-Style Suits - Any Recommendations?
Hi everyone, I am considering buying a suit that looks like it is from the 1920s. A modern reproduction would do just fine; no need for it to actually be a hundred years old. Does anyone know any good online shops for finding suits that look like they are from that era? Unfortunately, a lot of... More on styleforum.net

Does anyone know a good online shop for finding 1910s or 1920s men's suits?
Idk if you’re still looking (and if you’ve found anything more please share), but Shelby & Son is a european brand that make modern suits in a 20’s style. The waists on the trousers are obviously too low, and there’s no suspender buttons, and the legs are too short, but the pricing is okay and at least the suit parts feel high quality for the price (they sell shirts as well but i don’t like them, although they’re an okay modernisation). They’re obviously inspired by Peaky Blinders, but don’t only have grey and black in their repertoire, thank god lol They sell on Zalando and Asos, and can probably be found in the US as well More on reddit.com

Where can I find a men’s 1920s suit for wedding?
The 1960s were sometimes inspired by the 1920s, so you could just grab a vintage 60s suit from eBay for under $100 and stylize it properly. Make sure you filter by condition > pre-owned (or else you’ll find new/costumes). More on reddit.com

October 24, 2023 - It’s no wonder that our suit in this style has been named the Eden Suit in his honour. As the 1920s progressed, there was a gradual change in style. Whilst wide trousers had initially emerged in the middle years of the decade as a casual trouser to be worn with a contrasting sports jacket, the look soon spread to suits.

Another popular style of the 1920s was the so-called “jazz suit.” Its defining features were its very slim silhouettes and very high waists, which were intended to give the wearer the ultimate hourglass shape.

January 8, 2024 - Especially black suits were meant for mourning or similar occasions. ... The fabric of the blazers was heavy wool. Men chose colors like tan brown, pale gray, ivory, gray-blue, mustard yellow, and olive green. These are different from the conventional medium gray and navy blue colors. The trousers were tailored with a high waist, twin pleats, and ankle length. The shirts were mostly striped with monochrome colors. The pocket style was preferably flap-type.

July 18, 2013 - The 1920s fashion suit is one that is divided into not one but two styles that span the decade. The first few years had men in narrow fitting “jazz” suits and slightly less slender lounge suits, while the rest of the decade had men wearing wide fitting suits.

October 7, 2021 - Simon James Cathcart that was linked above has made a lot of 1910s-1920s inspired suits. I own quite a few of them personally and they are great options for the price. The problem is that these styles are more niche than the 30s or 40s inspired suits so they aren't sold as often.

History Of The Suit: The Evolution Of Menswear From 1800 To Today
March 27, 2020 - Drape and the drape suit really became popular in 1930s England in the US. During the ’20s, trousers all had a very high rise especially compared to today’s pants. All jackets were cut pretty tightly towards the beginning of the 1920s, towards the end, they had become wider in the shoulder with a bit more waist suppression, and in combination with the high-rise pants, one created a visual illusion of longer legs and a pronounced waistline.

r/VintageFashion on Reddit: Does anyone know a good online shop for finding 1910s or 1920s men's suits?
December 22, 2021 -

I'm thinking about buying a suit that looks like it is from the 1910s or 1920s. A modern reproduction would do just fine; no need for it to be actually a hundred years old. Does anyone know any good online shops for finding reproductions of suits from that era? A lot of what I find online is very cheap and looks like it is a costume. I don't want anything that looks like a caricature of gangsters from the '20s or '30s. My goal is to find something which looks reasonably authentic, hopefully without breaking the bank. The best sites I have found so far are Vintage Dancer and Darcy Clothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Influence of the 1920's Suit on Modern Menswear – The Dark Knot
July 17, 2015 - Cream colored suits were popularized during the 1920's. Courtesy of blogs.indiewire.com · Pocket squares for men at the time did not follow the rules that modern menswear has restricted them to by making it almost forbidden to match a pocket square to a tie. Pocket squares in the 1920's era were crisply and neatly folded often in the style of the tie or in white to match the shirt collar.
