Back then we had a lot of films with different genres. Nowadays it's just action or sequels. The number of feel good rom coms has significantly reduced. Don't even let me get started on the remakes. Who is to be blamed, the audience or filmmakers?

Why? Maybe cuz easy peezy money. It's just a downwards spiral, in early 2000s art films were difficult to make because they rarely earn money, same case with non-sequel movies in 2024, they also barely earn money. As the business expands, creativity declines. Ig in a couple of years the good films will only be short films to watch on youtube, because no studio will back them up. This year the only good movies I watched were - The Signature, Laapataa Ladies, The Wild Robot, and old movies. Missed Dune 2, All we imagine as light. Both Mehta Boys is lovely and Sitaare Zameen Par is delayed for 2025. Crossing my fingers.

Because the audience is not demanding a diverse range of films anymore. Action and horror comedy are the only 2 genre they want to see. Rest all are pretty much ott films fir the audience now.
