Hi HI!
First time replacing something like this. It’s an older 3 knob control with hot and cold knobs on the left and right side and a shower/tub faucet control in the middle.
The hot and cold knobs seem to be working great but the shower control knob only diverts like half of the water to the shower head when opened and still quite a bit comes out of the faucet. The stem I took out looks pretty much the same as the new one I put in so not sure what I’m doing wrong.

Also, does anyone know how to remove the faucet? There is no tension screw on the bottom or anything. I tried to twist it off but it didn’t budge and I don’t want to apply more force until I’m confidant on what to do.

Pull the diverter stem, I bet that's the problem. If it's something you got at Home Depot or Lowes or something similar, good luck. If not, with some online sleuthing you should be able to find it. I'm afraid it's a Depot Delta at first glance, but I hope I'm wrong.

It’s the shower valve. Needs to be replaced.
