September 20, 2024 - Same. I have AirPods Pro 2 and was using them as my daily driver until I picked up the AirPods 4 with ANC, which are now my new daily drivers. As expected, the APP 2s work best on the plane, concerts, etc. when I genuinely need to reduce loud sounds as much as possible.

hi yall!
i was googling this earlier today because i wanted to upgrade from my old gen 2s and found barely anything. for background info i had tried the gen 3s when they came out but they fell out of my ears instantly whenever i moved my head.
i am happy to say that the gen 4s fit amazingly and they are very comfortable. a little bigger than the gen 2s but not by much.
also first time having active noise cancellation and omg. it is so good. i like that when i am laying in bed while my bf games i can’t hear him at all until i say something and it puts on “transparency” mode. adding to that when i cough/clear my throat it doesn’t turn on transparency mode. so it recognizes when i speak which is so cool!
100/10 best purchase i have made this year.

Fit is very subjective so it’s great you had a chance to test it first hand! I relate too, I’ve begrudgingly been using various silicone buds like the APP2 or Bose QC Ultra because they don’t fall out, though it’s at the expense of comfort. I really wanted to love the AirPods 3 — if I hold them in an ideal position they sound amazing but in one of my ears they quickly drift out of place. The AirPods 4 fix all of that and add ANC so I don’t have to crank my music as loud in the gym. Quickly becoming my favorite earbuds even though I have a collection of 5+ true wireless buds.

July 8, 2025 - I just bought AirPods 4 ANC for $119 on Amazon + silicone case. Hopefully its worth it ... I've used 1st gen Airpods since I got them like 5 years ago and they don't have ANC and they are the best earphones I've ever used. $89 for non-ANC Airpods 4. If these are your first Airpods I recommend just go with the $89 ones.
