Im about to set my phone on auto dial with the push buttons to get reps for the sheer sake of wasting their time like they did mine. Fk amazon. Never was a fan but they just earned a lifelong I'll spend the extra 50 cents to say f**k you for life with that trash. No joke I'd put good money on the fact that the 75 yr old walmart customer service women would've been more helpful lol pathetic. Heck I could probably return it no box no papers three years later to Walmart and get a gift car to buy w.e literally. Can take Amazon's trash 5 mins down the road and get another or be done with it vs getting the middle finger. I got an amazon gift card from a friend as a graduation present and the code got scratched off when I opened it due to the adhesive being on there weirdly. I spoke to customer service yesterday about activating it and they said 24 hours. So I called again today and was told it was escalated to the wrong department and there’s nothing they can do because it’s tagged as fraud. Who can I contact to get this problem solved it’s a $100 and I would like to be able to use it. I’m very very angry about this and I really want someone who will help me. Your friend should contact Amazon. There is likely a record if it was bought, especially if through Amazon, and that can probably be used to issue a new code and disable the old. Since you didn’t buy it, they can’t help you.

I have had a similar experience. I was given a $50 gift card, and the code was not readable in the middle. I contacted Amazon customer service and went around with them and they said they needed the receipt from the gifter. I contacted them back in a few hours later and uploaded pictures of the Amazon card and receipt and they said they would put the $50 in my account. The next day it still was not in my account and I contacted them again. This time I was told that the receipt was incomplete and that I would need to get the entire receipt which I did. Again, I was assured that this time they could verify the number on the receipt and the card and that I would have the $50 applied within 48 hours. It has not been 72 hours and nothing. I will never deal with an Amazon gift card again! They and their customer service stinks!

I ask because they screwed up a Black Friday order, promised to send it again, failed to do so, and now they're claiming that if I order it again at full price, they'll adjust it to the Black Friday price after I receive the item. But there will be no official confirmation of that beyond some CSR's "word". Can't really trust that word since the last CSR promised to send it out again and that never happened.
A credit for the difference would obviously make that moot, but they swear they're unable to provide that.
So basically I'm trying to find out, is that also a lie? Do I just need to talk to the right person?

Faced a similar issue. I ordered an item, but it wasn’t shipped even after two weeks. I reached out to them a few times: Via chat – They assured me the item would be shipped within 24 hours and arrive within 72 hours. They also offered a $25 refund as a token of apology after I received the item. But nothing happened after 24 hours—the order was still stuck at the “Order Received” status. Via chat (again) – This time, they said my package was damaged during shipping. I asked them to send a replacement, but they said that couldn’t be done and asked me to cancel instead. I followed up on the $25 refund and requested it as a gift card since I didn’t want to wait for a refund. They said I’d receive the gift card within 2–3 hours, but I didn’t. Via chat (again) – They claimed they had fixed the issue and I’d receive the gift card within 3–5 more hours. This time, they even sent an email to confirm it. Still, nothing happened. Via email and chat – I replied to the email while also reaching out again via chat. They offered to add a note to my account to ensure I’d get the refund and again promised delivery within 72 hours. I pointed out that my delivery address is in Asia and asked how they could guarantee 72-hour delivery. They couldn’t answer properly and just kept repeating the same nonsense. But then—suddenly—I got an email update about the gift card. It didn’t show up immediately, but it appeared on the website about 15 minutes later. TL;DR: Chat support can be pretty hopeless. For overseas customers, if calling isn’t an option due to cost, try email instead. And be persistent! It took me 3 days to get this resolved.

I purchase a batch of gift cards and redeem them slowly as needed. I can't tell you why we do it this way but we've just been doing it this way for years now without issues.
We keep gift cards in their originally packaging. They're usually in a clear plastic bag, and then the paper envelope holding the gift card.
I went to redeem 3 of these cards. 2 of them had no issues. The 3rd kept telling me it was already used. I had just opened the plastic bag, taken the card out, and pulled the code cover sticker. I tried using both my phone app to read the code and website manually putting in the numbers/letters
I've been talking to support but they just tell me it's been redeemed. One was asking me who redeemed it (the name of the person), and I told them all possible names who could've redeemed it (all family) and they said none of those people.
Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how was it resolved?
