So I've been serious about woodworking for about 2 years now. I've slowly been adding tools and learning to do things with the tools have. I also watch a lot of woodworking videos. There are a ton of videos (sped up) of people building things on Facebook. It finally dawned on me they were sanding their projects using angle grinders. I had bought an angle grinder years ago for a project and then never used it again. So I picked up some sanding discs and tried it on a refinishing project. Worked great! Why do I never hear anyone talk about this way of sanding? I've done a bunch of research in the last 2 years and and never heard it mentioned. How about it Redditors, who uses an angle grinder for sanding?

Bought a right angle die grinder to do some precision sanding work that was a bit too demanding for my Dremel. I found this nifty 2" sanding backing pad attachment at Harbor Freight. They advertise it as being able to work with right angle die grinders. Well how in the heck am I supposed to attach this to my tool? Surely they don't intend for me to shove those 1/4-20 threads into the collet and tighten it down. That seems dumb, plus they only stick out 3/8".

Anybody know of a mandrel I could thread onto this doohickey? Thanks
