Everything I make is "anime," no matter how hard I try.
Fun drawing I did, took way too long, and anime faces are extremely hard lol
Forums: Beginning to Draw Manga/Anime style art
I want to (partially) stop on the anime style but I don't know how.

I have spent hours and hours trying to make my art style different from anime, but it's like no matter what I do, the moment I draw a humanoid character, someone will point out, "Oh! You draw anime!" I have nothing against anime or people who draw in that art style. It's just gotten to the point to where I've started hating drawing because everything I make is too "anime." I feel like my art does have anime influence but is distinct enough...
Here's an example of some of my work: https://imgur.com/a/595kBP4
I began drawing back on my late teens, back the I'd just draw random anime girls with my pens on my notebooks or just the regular books during studies, I liked anime a lot back in the day, so it was the main thing I wanted to draw, I never went anywhere with that because I just wanted to make cute girls and stuff like that.
But they were never any that good, just sketches in the same pose and I never learned to draw men.
I stopped drawing after that because I needed to try and get a life but like a while ago after some years I began drawing again, and this time I wanted to actually get invested and draw something good or at least interesting, and so I went back to making anime girls, and it was fun going back to the roots for a while but I think I am tired of it.
I think I am just tired of making anime faces, it's been years since I was big time invested in anime stuff and I want to make varied faces, bodies and things like that, but anime and manga still have plenty of interesting looks so I don't want to fully stop on.
Plus the fact that back then I never bothered to learn perspective, men, backgrounds or anything like that is bothering me, I want to get good, and recently I decided to make a little worldbuilding project/hobby for fun and I tried to make one character I had cool ideas for but nothing came out and I could not draw any of the locations in my mind and that felt like a reality check, plus the fact that I am 6 sketchbooks in and not much improvement.
So this is kind of a beginner's cry for help, I want to make something similar to a traditional comic book style, not realistic but still sorta, while also keeping some of the aesthetics of manga and anime, but I have no idea how.
So are there any books, tutorials, exercises or things like that that you guys can recommend so I can start?
