If you are now in a different country then updating your location will remove all of your purchases/downloads from your previous country from the Purchased links for redownloading, but they won't be deleted from your device and/or computer's iTunes library - as well as being tied to the account, all downloads are tied to the country that they were downloaded in, so you need to be in a country and have a billing address in that country on your account to be able to redownload. There are no apps (that I know of) that would not work in Canada vs. US. OH!!! And don't go switching between locations, it will lock, to a country, for a period of time (30 or 60 days). I live in a border town and there are a few store apps I’d like to download but can’t because they are only US (for example, cartwheel by target and some grocery stores as I always shop there).
If I change the country, it seems like I can download it, but then do I lose my Canadian apps? Or is there anyway to (legally and safely) do this?

Make a new account based on a US address. You should be able to access the US app store on that account. Then just log in and out of your Canadian/US account to access the different app stores. There should be guides online on how to do this, i did this so i could access the New Zealand app store for beta release access of apps.

I just recently switched from an Android to the iPhone 13 and was wondering if there is a way to download an app from another country's app store. For context, I live in the US and my Fiancee lives in Canada. I have a couple of credit cards from Canada and I was trying to install the app for those banks but it appears they are only available in the Canadian app store.
In Android, I had a second Google account that was registered in Canada added to the Play Store and it was as simple as tapping the drop down and changing which account I was using and I was able to download Canadian apps that way on Android. Is there a way to do this or is there any other way I can get apps from the Canadian app store?

I just make a new Apple ID and choose the location I want and then sign into that onto the AppStore, download the app then sign back into your old account. Do be warned however you will have to re download all your music if you using Apple Music.

You’ll also probably want to make sure you keep the username and password for your Canadian appleid in a secure place because for the next few years whenever you restore or setup a new apple device it will ask you for the password for your second account as well. I made a US appleid once and it still occasionally asks me to sign in to it even though I don’t think I use the apps that were downloaded with that account anymore.
