Why wouldn’t you just buy a better one from amazon that gives higher speeds for the same price or one with more ports? Anker has some great ones some with even higher speeds and they’re super small too so they’re great portable ones.

Good day, USB-C community! I have been purchasing used Apple USB-C charging bricks under the notion that they are of a MUCH higher quality than typical third-party chargers (including folks like Anker and Aukey). I have two of the Apple 96w chargers and they seem to work just fine... and I picked them up for a song. I have a colleague that thinks that's the Apple chargers are nothing special and that I'd be much better off purchasing one of the higher-end Anker charging bricks that have multiple ports.
What say you, community?

Apple chargers tend to be more expensive as they're a 1st party, and Apple has no qualms about padding their margins. That being said, the most recent Apple USB-C chargers also way more likely to be spec compliant than most chargers (older ones were missing a required 15V voltage rail because Apple designed them when the spec did not require it explicitly). What you'll be missing though from Apple chargers is any PPS at all, since none of Apple's products support PPS, even their smaller phone-centric chargers (20W, 35W Dual) don't support PPS, so there may be situations with your Samsung and Google Pixel phone where they won't charge as efficiently from the Apple chargers.

I'd say nothing special but less of a worry of one burning your house down. That being said, I tend to go w/ Anker as they are smaller, reliable, and have more ports. I'm not an expert, this is just my experience.
