Privacy - Apple
Locked apps allow you to show your screen to someone while protecting sensitive areas of your phone. For additional privacy, you can hide a locked app. This removes the hidden app’s name and icon from the Home Screen and search results, and pauses its notifications.

How to remove the annoying google privacy tool pop up? Safari is my default browser and anytime I want to use google I have to "agree" to the google privacy tool. Is there a way to stop this happening? I tried using google opt out analytics, but it doesnt work. More on discussions.apple.com

Is my iPhone hacked? I turned on my privacy report app and I have found many domain websites that are to contact through the app.. should I be worried? And also some of the apps are popping up that I haven't even clicked on.. does this mean somebody else is on my account without me knowing? More on discussions.apple.com

Is there any actual evidence whether Apple is better or not in terms of privacy?
As an app developer I can tell you that Apple is much stricter than Google in terms of privacy. On Android it has been (and partially still is) wild west / do whatever you want. It's getting better but imo that's only because regulations force them. Of course the limitations set by Apple do not apply to Apple itself. They are the landlord of that walled garden and we are all just guests. They routinely make sure we don't forget. More on reddit.com

Does Apple truly care about privacy?
why does Apple still allow the outdated SMS and MMS Because SMS is vital. Many (and I do mean many) people don't have 24/7 reliable Internet, and therefore cannot rely on RCS. Most people don't live in rich cities with 4G or 5G antennas every 2 meters. More on reddit.com

Keeping iPhone Data Hidden From Apple Is ‘Virtually Impossible’
May 9, 2024 - These are Apple’s own apps that come pre-loaded. They are “pretty much unavoidable on a new device, be it a computer, tablet or mobile phone,” the researchers said in a statement. The researchers studied eight apps available on iPhones, iPads and Macs: Safari, Siri, Family Sharing, iMessage, FaceTime, Location Services, Find My and Touch ID. First, they collected all publicly available privacy-related information on these apps, including technical documentation and privacy policies and user manuals.

Apple launched a new privacy website that lets you find all the data the company has on you
October 17, 2018 - The privacy portal was already tested in the European Union in May, coinciding with the EU's launch of restrictive privacy legislation called the General Data Protection Legislation (GDPR). The information collected may include data such as calendar entries, photos, reminders, documents, website bookmarks, App Store purchases or support history of repairs to your devices, among other items. The search function, which provides customers a report on their tracked data, fits into a broader narrative as Apple seeks to differentiate itself as a company that makes its money from selling hardware, rather than targeted ads based on the data of its customers.
