I just bought an Apple Watch. In these last few days, I have realized: The Apple Watch is not a watch. It is a squawking, talking, wrist-tapping heart rate monitor that takes your blood oxygen levels for fun while doubling as an ECG machine that tells you to wash your hands when you get home (and for the FULL TWENTY SECONDS ) while simultaneously nagging you to get up off your arse every hour to close three beautiful virtual rings that have monthly achievement awards, and of course go to bed nice and early after reminding you to charge it first of course so it can be with you while you sleep. Soon it’s telling you that your local metro transport system is loud enough to damage your hearing, when you suddenly notice - it also wants to help you with your menstrual cycle! (I am biologically male but … thanks … I guess … for the offer … I guess). You take a slow walk to the shops to buy milk and are pleased that the watch considers this to be a workout. And it’s all okay. You’re starting to like this thing! Because at the end of it all, it says to you, relax. “Take a Moment to BREATHE!” So you do. And you enjoy a one minute meditation and rapidly experience overwhelming clarity in your life. So you leave your house to head to the pool - because, oh yeah, this thing is also “Swim Proof!” as Tim Cook eagerly says. But then it taps you on the wrist again… Your heart sinks… “Did you leave your iPhone behind? Did you KNOW you just left your iPhone behind? DO YOU NEED TO GO GET YOUR iPHONE?!” More on reddit.com

Haptic alarm. Ever since I got an apple watch I haven’t waken up to a normal alarm sound ever since. The feeling of just the subtle vibrations feels like tapping you awake and it feels so much better than just hearing an annoying sound for every morning! Messages is also really nice to have on the watch to make quick replies and keep posted on people trying to keep in touch. Also love the camera remote feature that is especially nice to take pictures with your phone on a tripod or set up against something. More on reddit.com
