have any of you ditched slacks/dress pants at work for chinos? how was it?
I wear 90% chinos to work. I own an insurance agency in a beach community. On the rare occasions where dress slacks would really be required, I end up just wearing a suit because it means it's a big thing anyway. I like them, they're comfy, can be dressed up a bit with a blazer/tie and can be more casual with a polo. More on reddit.com

Chinos or Dress Pants
The pecking order is usually jeans < chinos < dress pants. Since you said you usually wear jeans and a shirt, it leads me to believe that that's the normal attire at the office; so I'd recommend chinos. Keep in mind there are casual chinos and dressy chinos as well. I'd probably go for the dressy chinos.
