I was close to pressing the buy button on an Asrock Z790 but I realized the missing bios flashback functionality. After checking other Asrock models I still don't see a flashback button on any Z790 models from the $200 budget models all the way up to the $500 Taichi.
Meanwhile checking Asrock Z690 boards I see this functionality on a budget $130 board. It's also present on the cheapest AMD B650 riptide board.
Maybe I'm missing it or they have implemented it differently this generation?

Am I imagining things or do the new and coming Z790 Taichi top of the line Z790 motherboard not have any BIOS FLashback function? If so it is shocking... There is no buttons at the back for BIOS Flashback nor Clear CMOS making the back end look rather poor and not like we expect from a high end board. The Z690 version have the BIOS Flashback, this is very weird and strange. If I where to buy a ASRock Taichi board for the new 13Th gen CPU's from Intel then the omission of this critical function is enough for me to not consider the Z790 version. My brain struggle to comprehend how this is even possible that ASRock would make such a dumb move? So a BIG warning to all Z790 Taichi buyers out there if the BIOS for whatever reason gets bricked then you will not be able to save it using the Flashback function by for instance loading a earlier version of the BIOS in place. Why ASRock WHY? Can not understand this...
Hi guys!
I'll combine 2 questions into 1 post. Hope thats okay.
I'm possibly going to buy the steel legend z790 (wifi) board. Last night became aware it has no Bios Flashback. It's probably not important to me, but I feel a little weird about it being ommited - so I'll ask here.

If you own the Z790 Steel Legend, is there a seperate way to reset the bios to default if it becomes corrupt? Asus TUF has no bios flashback button either, but it does have a procedure to flash a bios if its corrupted, it just doesn't involve a button (and you still need a compatible CPU installed.)

What has your overall experience been with ASRock? Personally, my teen owns an ASRock and has had 0 problems in 3 plus years, which he has used extensively. Never touched the Bios. I've dealt with booth good and bad RMAs from gaming laptop / prebuilt companies (Cyberpower=Bad, NZXT=Bad, Dell/Alienware=Amazing), but I never built a tower before.
Thank you!
I'm using the z790 Riptide wifi (bios 7.06). Everything is up to date - fresh w11. Restart to bios does not work (boot loop). I just cannot figure it out. 90% of the time, it gets stuck in a boot loop when I try to press del/f2. Sometimes I get the logo screen and can get in when I shut the power off. It seems like there is no method to the madness. Yesterday it took me 20 reboots/power resets to get in. Pretty annoying if you're trying to OC. I tried making the shutdown shortcut. Also tried logging out of w11, holding shift, reset (think that was removed in w11). Ultra fast boot is disabled. Tried increasing boot timer but that doesn't do anything.
