ATM10: Mekanism Max Ore Processing Setup…
In my most recent handful of packs, I have not even touched mekanism ore processing. I just feed it all into the best smelter I've got and take no doubling. Previously, I have played with the Occultism ore multiplication process once, that was kinda fun. I didn't feel it was particularly fast, but it did seem like it was worth the effort at the early point I was in that pack. As soon as I have consistent Bees or MA set up though... I'm not bothering with ore multiplication. Now, if I was to avoid Bees/MA for general ores though, and instead did a digital miner, or other miner solution in the mining dimension, sure it might be fun to set up a massive mekanism ore multiplication setup again, but it really feels unnecessary with how fast bees are. I already finished ATM10 with a playthrough heavily focused on mekanism and AE and I recently started another playthrough this time with a friend on atm10tts and I was wondering if there was other tech mods than you can focus on heavily, I'm interested by crate but I'm afraid that if I don't go through mekanism, things won't be as "optimized" as it could If I were to heavily rely on mekanism As for applied I don't think there is a better storage/automatisation mod but if you have recommendations I'll take them

Create happens to have a decent storage system, so if you plan to only go down the create path, go for it, though you'll have trouble finding something near the level of ae2, let alone above it. Don't worry about anything but your own fun. It's your(and your buddy's) playthrough. A different decent storage mod(though not automation) is occultism.

Hey guys I’m kinda new to tech mods like this, and I need a little help like understand what each machine does and how to set up “production” or whatever properly. I made everything up to the crusher I think?? But I’m not sure how it all really works together and how I connect them. Any advice or help would be awesome (and merry Christmas btw).

If you don't have "goals" or "purposes for the machines, and are just questing, save them for later. I tend to find that some awful crafting thing can be done easily by a Mekanism machine. The main use (imo) for Mekanism is ore/material production. The Wiki is actually a nice wiki aswell, with detailed diagrams and explanations

Two questions:

is it worth doing anymore/does anyone do it?

those that have, the first step is 3 raw ore, how do you setup processing that doesn’t backlog with 1 of something in there waiting for 2 more etc?
With MA, Bees, Lasers, miners, quarries…. All of which can be really near limitless, is there any need to set up the max processing setup from Mekanism? I used to love getting that 1:5 love and I believe the math is like 1:7 now if I’m not mistaken but do you need it and is it worth setting up? It seems easier now days as you can skip the difficult part of sulfur since you get so much with MA?
Then, how do you automate the process but make sure you don’t clog the thing with one or two ores and make a mess of everything? Is there a way to have some buffer that can only move into say a second buffer if there are 3x of the raw ore?

If you do mekanism early on, then sure, go for it, but I only ever get about halfway through the ore processing before I have too much of every ore from MA or other resource generation methods. It's very rare for it to ever be worth doing the whole setup unless you don't do MA/Bees until super late. In my first run, I did mekanism first, but in the current run of ATM10, I started with MA, and it has been so much faster and more efficient. Set up two basic 9x9 MA farms (one inferium and the other resources) in a chunkloaded area and call it a day. Also worth considering if you can use the ore processing for the ATM ores, I can't remember if it works or not, so double-check JEI.

March 19, 2025 - I saw in another comment that you are using ATM10 where my information may be wrong, but for at least ATM9 the ore processing rates are wrong. The 1x 2x 3x... is actually 1x, 1.33x, 2x, 2.66x, and 3.33x respectively for 1 raw ore to ingot. (Eg at the max ore processing setup, its 3 raw ores to 10 ingots, thus 1 ore to 3.3 ingots, thus 3.33x) I'm not sure if this was changed in ATM10, but those are the rates for ATM9.
