I locked in a lease in Bridgeport but wanted to ask folks outside of what I could find on the Wikipedia page, what is Bridgeport like? I took the CTA to get down there, but got the vibe it's car-oriented. Thankfully, I'm walking distance from Halsted for groceries and restaurants, and have access to the 31 bus to get to Red/Orange line since I don't have a car.

However, I'd love to hear more about the vibe from folks who've recently lived there/are currently living there. What events go down? How would you describe the general population? Any cool places to check out? Is it a quiet, sleepy neighborhood (noticed lots of daycares) with families? Any and all insight is greatly appreciated.

Moved into a new flat and my room has two singles instead of a double - so I'm shoving them together to make a double (or a super king according to Google).

The bed frame means there's a gap between them, and ideally I'd like to fill it. The gap fillers I seen on Amazon end up being pretty dear like £55, because of the depth, length and width of the gap. Any ideas on how I can do this in a super budget friendly way?

Has anyone used a "bed bridge"/"bed doubler"/"bed connector" to make a larger bed space out of smaller beds? One of my partners and I were talking about getting a larger bed tonight. The three of us have slept in a double together, and that's tight. A queen...that may still be tight. A king might work, but we'd like a bit more width for possible future partners and also...not sleeping. :-P The idea was to put two doubles together, forming a bed 108 inches across, a good 30 inches wider than a king. That should sleep 3 with lots of extra room or probably 4 comfortably.

We found these items to allow this. Lots of people seem to use them to put two cheaper twins together to make a "faux king". Has anyone used them? Issues? Is the person in the middle perpetually falling through the crack? Or is it lumpy? Did you make your own sheets? Etc. (see links in comments below for examples)
